Product Description & Benefits:
The Female Lower Abdominal Brief - Stage One Garment is worn immediately following surgery for the first 1-2 weeks of post-op before the Stage Two garment becomes necessary. The Stage One garment is made to be less tight and bigger than the Stage Two due to your having more swelling during the initial recovery. This garment improves blood circulation, minimizes swelling after the procedure, flushes the body out of potentially harmful fluids, accelerates the healing process, keeps the implants in their correct position, and allows the patient to return to daily routines sooner. This compression garment also provides support to surgical areas for more comfort and helps the skin fit better to its new contours. Further, this garment can also help prevent a patient from experiencing some "throbbing" sensations after surgery. The garment may also help reduce the tension on newly formed scars and prevent them from stretching.
This garment features a 100% latex-free fabric that offers enhanced support and more durable compression performance. The garment's silky and soft fabric is stretchable to make it easier to slip on and off, yet fiercely strong and durable. The fabric is remarkably lightweight and breathable to keep you clean, dry and fresh all day long. The fabric provides the compression control you need to optimize circulation and enhance healing, while giving you the "feel good" comfort that patients demand. This Female Lower Abdominal Brief - Stage One Garment has a crotch that can be closed with hooks and eyes.
Stage Two Garment: A Stage Two garment that goes with this Stage One garment is available and can be found at: Female Lower Abdominal Brief Compression Garment - Stage Two . The Stage Two garment is worn during 2-8 weeks post-op after the Stage One garment is no longer appropriate. The Stage Two garment is made to be particularly comfortable for long-term wear and is sized smaller, tighter and offers more compression than the Stage One garment due to the fact that you are less swollen at this later stage of post-op. Doctors may recommend that patients wear compression garments during both Stage One (initial 1-2 weeks of post-op) and Stage Two (2-8 weeks post-op) of recovery. A Stage Two garment helps improve blood circulation, minimizes any swelling that remains, and accelerates the healing process. For this reason, a Stage Two garment may be recommended. By having both the Stage One and Stage Two garments, the patient has the advantage of having continuous compression, which is essential for obtaining the best results during the recovery phase and for having the greatest degree of comfort.

While seated, step your legs into the garment and slide it up to your knees and/or thighs. While remaining seated, you should now be able to gently position the garment into place on your body. Standing up very slowly and using the chair or bed to provide support, pull the garment fully into place, making sure the crotch opening is correctly positioned. After the garment has soaked, it can be hand washed and air/line-dried.

Important Healthy Tip: Due to long, continuous periods of time that you may need to wear the garment, it is recommended to purchase 2 garments.
