This garment is made of a fabric that has four-way stretch and is specially formulated for use after plastic and reconstructive surgery to apply even, universal compression. With its reinforced outside seams, body-hugging, specially-formulated contour design, and easy-to-apply hook and eye and zipper combination, this garment features the latest in garment technology. The garment is designed with the patient in mind. Contemporary Design employed 3D BodyScan technology to ensure that garments hug patients around every curve for a secure, even fit. This garment also uses fabrics, such as Sateen and SuperSilky, that are the ultimate in comfort. Not only is this garment designed for the ultimate in patient comfort, it is also designed to quicken the healing process with not its compression qualities, but by being self-wicking and antimicrobial. This garment is imparted with a specially formulated ester derivative of Triclosan. Triclosan is a non-toxic and highly effective antimicrobial agent often used in garments and other household items such as hand soap, toothpastes and deodorants. The Triclosan ester compound used in the garment is combined with the dye used in the fabrics and is applied using a specific dying process. This highly technical process ensures that the antimicrobial process is not simply on the surface of the fabric, but is infused into each individual fiber. This results in durable, long-lasting germicidal, fungicidal and antimicrobial properties not found using other application methods. The antimicrobial properties of the fabric will remain effective through 25 wash cycles and is not negatively affected by detergents or bleach.
Stage Two Garment: A Stage Two garment that goes with this Stage One garment is available and can be found at: Sculptures Plastic Surgery Compression Garment Body Shaper Brief - Stage 2 (Contemporary Design).Doctors may recommend that patients wear compression garments during both Stage One (initial 1-2 weeks of post-op) and Stage Two (2-8 weeks post-op) of recovery. For this reason, a Stage Two garment may be recommended. Instructions For Use: Assume a seated position in a chair or on a bed with the garment next to you. While seated, step your legs into the garment and slide it up to your knees and/or thighs. While remaining seated, you should now be able to gently position the garment into place on your upper body. Standing up very slowly and using the chair or bed to provide support, pull the garment fully into place, making sure the crotch opening is correctly positioned. If you do not feel comfortable standing up, please lie on your back to apply the garment. If you have someone to assist you, they can help with the positioning of the garment. Once the garment is positioned, the shoulder straps should be fastened and adjusted.
The garment is typically worn immediately after the surgery and continuously for several days (or longer depending on the doctor's instructions). During the initial period of post-op, your doctor may instruct you to wear this garment constantly (even while sleeping) and only remove it when you need to go to the bathroom or to shower. As your healing progresses, you should be able to remove the garment for various activities. Generally, the amount of time you will need to wear your garment will be reduced as your move forward in your healing journey. The garment is worn like long underwear underneath your clothing. It is recommended to wear loose-fitting clothing over the garment.
Measuring Myself Correctly & Getting The Right Size: Knowing how to measure yourself correctly and getting the right size for your garment is the most crucial step of selecting a garment. For this reason, please view the Size Chart (and read the measuring tips) associated with this garment.
Garment Care: Your garment can be hand washed. The garment should be washed in cold water and air/line-dried. Washing your garment in hot water or drying with an electric or gas dryer may ruin the garment. To remove any stains, the garment can be soaked in 2 or 3 gallons of cool water with 1/4 cup of peroxide added. After the garment has soaked, it can be hand washed and air/line-dried.
Important Healthy Tip: Due to long, continuous periods of time that you may need to wear the garment, it is recommended to purchase 2 garments. Having two garments will enable you to always have a freshly clean garment, while the soiled one is being washed.
