Stage One Garment
A Stage One garment that goes with this Stage Two garment is available and can be found at:
High Back Ankle LengthPlastic Surgery Compression Garment w/Zipper- Stage 1. Doctors may recommend that patients wear compression garments during both Stage One (initial 1-2 weeks of post-op) and Stage Two (2-8 weeks post-op) of recovery. For this reason, a Stage One garment may be recommended. By having both the Stage One and Stage Two garments, the patient has the advantage of having continuous compression, which is essential for obtaining the best results during the recovery phase and for having the greatest degree of comfort.
Instructions For Use
The garment is typically worn during the second stage (2-8 weeks or longer, depending on the doctor's instructions) of post-surgery recovery. The second stage garment is worn once your first stage garment (first 1-2 weeks of post-op) is no longer appropriate. Generally, the amount of time you will need to wear your garment will be reduced as your move forward in your healing journey. The compression garment is worn like long underwear underneath your clothing. It is recommended to wear loose-fitting clothing over the garment.
Measuring Myself Correctly & Getting The Right Size
Knowing how to measure yourself correctly and getting the right size for your garment is the most crucial step of selecting a garment. For this reason, please view the
Size Chart (and read the measuring tips) associated with this garment.
Garment Care
Your garment can be hand washed. The garment should be washed in cold water and air/line-dried. Washing your garment in hot water or drying with an electric or gas dryer may ruin the garment. To remove any stains, the garment can be soaked in 2 or 3 gallons of cool water with 1/4 cup of peroxide added. After the garment has soaked, it can be hand washed and air/line-dried.
Important Healthy Tip
Due to long, continuous periods of time that you may need to wear the garment, it is recommended to purchase 2 garments. Having two garments will enable you to always have a freshly clean garment, while the soiled one is being washed.
