What Makes Rainey Compression Garments Superior To Other Brands?

Rainey Compression Essentials, founded in 1990 by apparel designer Russell Rainey, is an industry leader of pre- and post-operative garments. Surgeons were seeking a higher level of quality, service and innovation to aid in the critical healing process of their patients.

After collaborating with surgeons, nurses and staff, a new generation of compression garments took shape that met all medical compression requirements without sacrificing the comfort of patients.

Rainey is continually working to improve the construction and features of our garments to incorporate new technical advances that include comfortable, breathable DuPont Power Lycra fabric, an easier to use crotch opening and reinforced seams. We also feature a distinctive line of consultation garments that include gowns, camisoles and robes for easy physical exams and elegant patient modesty.

How Can Compression Garments Benefit My Healing Journey?

Following your procedure, your doctor will ask you to wear a compression garment. Wearing a compression garment after plastic surgery is essential to improve blood circulation, minimize swelling after the procedure, flush the body out of potentially harmful fluids, accelerate the healing process, and allow the patient to return to daily routines sooner. A compression garment also provides support to surgical areas for more comfort and helps the skin fit better to its new contours. Finally, compression garments can also help reduce tension on newly formed scars and prevent them from stretching. Depending on the doctor's instructions, you may need to wear your compression garment for a period of time that may range from days, to weeks, months, or longer.

How Can Abdominal Garments Benefit My Healing Journey?

In the Support & Compression Garments department of the Store, you can try out a wide array of well-fitting, high-quality, and comfortable support bras, vests, and related compression garments for breast lift (mastopexy). As you stroll through this area of the Store, you will notice that the garments are organized into primary categories, including Breast Support Bras & Garments, Multiple Procedure Garments, and Breast Compression Garments.

Following breast lift (mastopexy), your doctor will ask you to wear a support or compression garment. Wearing a garment after breast reduction is essential to improve blood circulation, minimize swelling after the procedure, flush the body out of potentially harmful fluids, accelerate the healing process, and allow the patient to return to daily routines sooner. A compression garment also provides support to surgical areas for more comfort and helps the skin fit better to its new contours. Further, support and compression garments can also help prevent a patient from experiencing some “throbbing” sensations after surgery. Finally, compression garments can also help reduce tension on newly formed scars and prevent them from stretching.

Breast support and compression garments are typically worn immediately after the surgery for a period of time that may range from days to weeks, depending on the doctor’s instructions. During the initial period of post-op, your doctor may instruct you to wear your garment constantly (even while sleeping) and only remove it when you need to shower. As your healing progresses, you should be able to remove the garment for various activities. Generally, the amount of time you will need to wear your garment will be reduced as you move forward in your healing journey. Due to heavy drainage and long, continuous periods of time that you may need to wear the garment, it is recommended to purchase 2 garments.

How Do I Measure Myself Correctly & Get The Right Size?

Knowing how to measure yourself correctly and getting the right size for your garment is the most crucial step of selecting a garment. For this reason, please view the Size Chart (and read the measuring tips) that is included along with each garment that you view in the Store.
