How
Can Concealers Benefit My Healing Journey?
Concealers may be used to
cover light bruises that range from light brown, yellow to gray, as well as
to camouflage later-stage scars (that are no longer visibly red). However, concealers
are not appropriate for camouflaging dark bruises (i.e. black, blue, purple,
and green) or fresh/early stage scars that are visibly red. Concealers are thicker,
have denser pigment content, and are more opaque than foundation. Concealers
are also more opaque than color correctors. When used in camouflage makeup techniques,
concealers are generally applied after color correctors but before foundation.
Concealers come in both liquid and solid forms (round pots, sticks, lotions,
and tubes).
How
Can Concealers Benefit My Everyday Makeup Routine?
Beyond using corrective
concealers during healing from a cosmetic procedure, these products can be a
great addition to your everyday beauty routine. Concealers help reduce the appearance
of under-eye circles and fine lines around the face. Concealers can also be
applied to even your skin tone and lighten up areas that look dark or form shadows
in the face. Among the areas that are typically lightened up by concealers include
the inner and outer corners of the eyes, frown lines, nasolabial folds (creases
that run from the corners of your nose to the outside corners of the mouth),
marionette lines (lines extending from the corners of the mouth), and the small
dark depression that forms in the chin right below the lower lip. Concealers
can also cover minor imperfections such as blemishes, freckles and age spots.
