Avocet is the maker of two leading brands in the scar care industry, Avogel Scar Hydrogel Sheets and Avosil Scar Gel.
Avogel Scar Hydrogel Sheets
Avogel is an invisible, greaseless, non odorous gel sheet recommended by doctors and pharmacists to improve the color, texture and overall appearance of old and new scars. Avogel is affordable and easy-to-use, especially when you compare it to other types of scar treatments like injections, surgery, silicone sheeting and cosmetic pads. Whether your scar is from surgery, a burn, stretch marks, an injury, or acne, you can be sure that Avogel can help make it appear softer, smoother and less noticeable.
Avogel is a soft, flexible sheet composed of hydrogel intended for use in the management of scars. The naturally adhesive and flexible properties of this water based material allow the sheeting to conform to the irregularities of the scar and stay in place with minimal additional attachment. Avogel reduces the hardness and size, while returning the scar to a more natural appearance.
Avogel is an affordable and easy to use hydrogel sheeting designed to improve the color, texture, and overall appearance of old and new scars. Avogel is a sterile product made to the highest medical standards for products in contact with the skin. The daily wearing of this product as directed will soften and reduce the size of the scar tissue, while making the scar less obvious. Avogel will control scar formation to enhance skin function and improve the aesthetic appearance after wound healing.

Avosil Scar Gel
Avosil scar care gel is a new formulation for scars. Avosil contains a safe aspirin derivative with anti-inflammatory activity in a water soluble medium. Avosil scar care gel improves the comfort and appearance of scars resulting from surgery, radiation, injury or burns. In addition, Avosil is a highly effective moisturizer with antioxidant properties. Avosil was developed in collaboration with clinicians and scientists at leading medical centers in the USA . Avosil is not a plant extract: all ingredients are known, carefully chosen, tested, extensively references in scientific and medical literature, and safety is well established.
Avosil was formulated over many years in collaboration with leading scar experts. Topical or injectable steroids have been the accepted medical therapy for treatment of hypertrophic and keloid scarring for past four decades. Steroids have not become routine in post trauma or post-surgical medical care because of side effects. Instead, steroids are used to treat scars that have become problematic. Therefore, Avosil gives you the benefits of decreased inflammation, traditionally delivered by steroids, but with little or no side effects.
Avosil is best used after surgery or trauma. It should be used on closed wounds after repitheliazation has occurred. It is used one or twice daily, applied to the incision for 6-8 weeks. The reduction in signs of inflammation and the reduction in pain around the incision is readily noted soon after application. Unlike atrenal corticosteroids, Avosil does not produce hypopigmentation or fat atrophy. Avosil has been found to be effective in many post-burn and post-operative patients.
