Dr.
Gupta possesses a unique set of skills as a faculty member
in the division of plastic surgery. He believes his first
responsibility is to care for and educate each of his patients.
He has brought a broad surgical expertise and international
clinical experience to the Inland Empire. After graduating
from McGill University School of Medicine in Montreal, Canada,
Dr. Gupta spent nearly a decade in post-graduate training
completing residency training and fellowships:
General surgery (McGill University)
Plastic and reconstructive surgery (McGill University)
Hand and microsurgery (University of Nevada).
He
is board certified in plastic surgery and is a member of the
American Society of Plastic Surgeons and several other national
groups. His clinical expertise includes:

aesthetic surgery focusing on body contouring and endoscopic
methods
- skin resurfacing including laser surgery and chemical peels
- surgery of the hand and microsurgical reconstruction
- surgical and non-surgical wound and scar care
Surgeon,
educator, and researcher
Dr. Gupta serves as the research director
of the division of plastic surgery. He holds a PhD in medical
informatics with expertise and active research projects in
Internet-based health-care delivery, virtual reality in surgery,
and technology assessment. He has been well recognized for
his contributions to research in informatics, outcomes assessment,
and wound healing with funded fellowships, research grants,
and paper/presentation awards from numerous specialty and
national societies. He has published over 30 scientific articles
and serves on several scientific review and editorial boards.
His current research projects deal with ultrasound-assisted
liposuction, advanced technologies in wound care, nutrition
in healing, and functional outcomes after hand surgery. He
is also an accomplished educator with teaching awards from
each of his training programs.
