Before there was Paris Hilton, icon of pink and plastic surgery, there was Los Angeles billboard legend, Angelyne.

Flamboyant Angelyne is an L.A. icon without ever having been anyone but herself. Back in the day, her oversized breasts and inflated lips graced billboards around the city. The billboards are down, but the city’s plastic surgeons are likely still busy keeping Angelyne looking picture-perfect at all times.

Angelyne is careful to have never revealed her age, (some sources place it an unlikely 45) but she’s had more than enough plastic surgery to last a lifetime. As New York plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says, “With Angelyne, I don’t even know where to start.”

The most noticeable thing on Angelyne is oversized breast implants, which practically sag under the effort of being lifted on such a tiny frame. After that, one’s gaze travels Angelyne’s face, surrounded by a ridiculous amount of frizzy blonde locks and enhanced with enough plastic surgery to keep an entire office of plastic surgeons in business for a lifetime.

Dr. Jennifer Walden reveals, “It seems apparent that Angelyne has undergone breast augmentation, as her breasts are grossly oversized for her petite frame. She may have had a facelift without a necklift as well given the tightness of her face in some areas, but the looseness of her skin in other areas such as her neck.”

Angelyne’s face is so enhanced with make-up and surgery that it is difficult to suppose all the procedures she has undergone, but they almost certainly include: at least one facelift, a rhinoplasty, browlift. She most likely also gets lip injections and facial fillers on a regular basis as well.

Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, Calif., said, “Angelyne appears to have had everything performed on her face: an over-aggressive, pinched rhinoplasty, brow lift, lip injections and possibly a face lift as well, since she’s been a around for a long time. It’s obvious that she’s had breast augmentation. Only her arms are beginning to show her age. Cheers to her for still looking good.”

For L.A. dwellers, it’s just another day in Hollyweird when Angelyne zips up the 101 Freeway in her hot pink Corvette. For visitors, it’s the opportunity to see a plastic surgery legend in the neon pink flesh.

Her daughter, Hayden Panetierre, may be the famous one in the family, but her mother, Lesley Vogel, is the one participating in Hollywood’s favorite pastime: plastic surgery.

The former soap opera actress is probably best known for being the mother of Heroes star Hayden Panetierre, but if her face gets any more frozen, she’ll be best known as a tragic case of plastic surgery gone wrong.

Lesley’s age is allegedely 52 and it appears she has been over-Botoxed in an effort to be frozen in time. In addition to her noticeably frozen appearing face, Lesley looks like she’s had an over-zealous rhinoplasty, leaving her with a very pinched looking tip. Her lips are over-sized and very uneven, indicating the use of fillers.  Hayden Panetierre’s mom also appears to have gotten an eye lift and possibly even a face lift.  Any more lifting on this face will take Lesley to uncharted awful plastic surgery territory.

Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, Calif., said, “Hayden Panetierre’s mom has had an extremely aggressive, pinched rhinoplasty and she probably can’t breathe through her nose. Her lips are a bit large from some type of filler, especially her lower lip. She may have also had some eye work. Like many women her age, I’m sure that Botox is also on board here.”

Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says, “Hayden’s mother has obvious had plastic surgery. Her rhinoplasty appears overdone. Additionally she has an over-Botoxed look and uneven lip filler. I would suggest she give the injectables a break for awhile.”

Although facial injectables are clearly at play, Lesley’s overdone plastic appearance could also be a result of more invasive facial plastic surgery procedures. In addition to the unsuccessful rhinoplasty, she may have cheek implants and an eyelid lift.

Lesley looks as though she may have had plastic surgery below the neck as well, getting a breast augmentation that is clearly evident in the high, overly round form of her breasts.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Jennifer Walden says, “Hayden Panetierre’s mother looks completely overdone. It looks like she has had a poorly done rhinoplasty that has left her with a pinched tip and a collapsed bridge. She also looks as if she uses lip fillers, leaving the bottom lip disproportionate. She may use fillers in her face as well and it is possible she has had cheek implants. Her high eyebrows may suggest blepharoplasty or Botox. Given the height and roundness of her breasts, she appears to have breast implants as well.”

No matter how much plastic surgery she has, Lesley will never look as young as her 19-year old daughter, and Make Me Heal encourages her to stop trying. Lesley is an attractive woman who should embrace her age and use age-defying procedures in moderation.

Linda Evans may not have appeared on television in a while, but that doesn’t keep her from being talked about. Unfortunately, it’s not for her acting skills as much as it is for her obvious and excessive plastic surgery.

66-year old Linda rose to fame in her role on the legendary soap Dynasty. Since then, she’s apparently spent her time in the plastic surgeon’s office, getting implants, fillers and lifts. 

Linda’s face is preternaturally full for a woman her age, indicating the use of either an overload of facial fillers or cheek implants.

Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says, “Linda looks like she has had dermal fillers or cheek implants in her midface, leaving her cheeks appearing over-exaggerated.” 

In addition to the full appearance of her face, it is also very tight and pulled looking, probably the work of an over-zealous facelifte, eyelift. She also looks as though she’s had a nose job, leaving her nose very pinched looking. 

Facial plastic surgery expert Dr. Paul S. Nassif says, “Ms. Evans has probably had all areas of her face worked on: a facelift, an over-aggressive rhinoplasty which makes her nose look pinched, over-elevated eyebrows and hollow eyes from an aggressive eyelid and brow surgery and finally, over-inflated lips. Subtle surgery and fillers would have kept her more natural looking.” 

While Linda certainly stands out, she does look like she has gone overboard. 

Plastic surgeon Dr. Sherrell J. Aston says, “Linda Evans had classic good looks and a brilliant smile. She appears to have had in the past a rhinoplasty, facelift, upper and lower blepharoplasty, and brow lift. Recent photos show over injection of her face and lips. This is a perfect example of attempts to correct the signs of aging by using one modality.” 

Instead of such invasive procedures, Dr. Aston recommends, “Conservative injection to restore facial volume along with sophisticated facial surgery would have left her beautiful. She should not have any more surgery or injections.”

Linda Evans was once an attractive woman, but going under the knife too often hasn’t brought back her youth, although she has certainly tried.

It seems that former Olympic athlete Bruce Jenner and stepdad to Kim Kardashian and her sisters has gotten tired of making the list of worst celebrity plastic surgery and has decided to go under the knife again.

59-year old Bruce is the stepfather of the the Kim Kardashian clan and is probably the family member that Kim had hinted would be going under the knife soon (See Make Me Heal’s story on the Kardashian family Gets More Plastic Surgery). 

Just as she had teased that “Someone in the Kardashian family will soon have plastic surgery,” Kim was also the Kardashian who spilled the beans on which family member she was talking about: step-father Bruce.

Bruce Jenner was formerly part of Make Me Heal’s lineup on male celebrities with bad plastic surgery for the overly tight facelift and over-aggressive rhinoplasty, which gave him a feminine appearance (See Make Me Heal’s story on Bad Male Plastic Surgery).

On her blog, Kim said, “”Twenty five years ago, Bruce was ill-advised by a doctor to have a partial facelift and a nose job. Unfortunately, the result wasn’t what Bruce had hoped for and for years since then he has been the victim of cruel taunts from the media. Since he’s turning 60 in October, Bruce felt it was time to correct the mistakes made by the previous doctor so he went to a new doctor for a second facelift. The results are amazing! Bruce looks better than ever and he is extremely happy with the result.”

To correct Bruce’s awful plastic surgery, New York plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says, “Based on the photos, Bruce would benefit from a facelift and neck lift. He has redundant submental skin distorting his jaw and neck line.”

Because Bruce’s previous plastic surgery was so aggressive, his surgeon would have to tread carefully this time to keep his appearance youthful, but not overdone.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Sherrell J. Aston says, ” Bruce Jenner is a perfect example of what can happen with a partial facelift. The cheeks are tight and the neck is sagging. This can only be corrected with a full facelift and neck lift. The platysma muscle in the neck is sagging; there is some fat and excess skin. He can get an excellent result by a master facelift surgeon. His brows are a little low but I would just do the Face/Neck lift procedure so as to not make him look done. His previous rhinoplasty can also be improved significantly.”

Photos of Bruce’s new look are out, and the results are much improved. His “new” face doesn’t appear nearly as tightly pulled as it did formerly.

Facial plastic surgery expert Dr. Paul S. Nassif says, “I know the surgeon who did Bruce Jenner’s revision facelift. He did a great job making it look more natural and less pulled. To revise a facelift, you have to change the direction of pull, make it a more vertical lift and not as tightly pulled. Cheers to his new facelift!”

While Bruce may never be restored to his former glory, it’s gratifying to see that he is finally happy with the results of his plastic surgery and hopefully, this will be it for his time under the knife.

In the decade, Michael Jackson has become more known for his plastic surgery addiction than his music. So it was with much alarm that Make Me Heal learned that the King of Pop is planning to have more plastic surgery for his upcoming comeback series of concerts in London.

50-year old Michael Jackson has had a tumultuous personal life, but that is nothing compared to the havoc that a plastic surgeon’s knife has wreaked on his face. In the past, Michael has notoriously gone through several rhinoplasty procedures, the last of which was done as a repair. A German doctor reportedly took cartilage from Jackson’s ear to place inside his nose to repair deterioration caused by years of multiple nose jobs. Michael’s nose is now said to be fine, although it previously teetered on the brink of collapse.

In addition to the rumored countless nose jobs, Michael has reportedly also had cheek implants, a smaller jaw as well as a a skin lightening procedure.

After all the work, Jackson is now said to want to have even more plastic surgery, despite it making him look nearly unrecognizable from his days with the Jackson 5.

According to the rumor mill, “Jackson wants to go under the knife again, according to biographer Ian Halperin. He says, “Michael has consulted some of the world’s best cosmetologists and surgeons in preparation for this comeback.“

On his blog Dr. Anthony Youn responds to the report saying, “That’s a BAD idea. The only plastic surgery he should consider having is corrective plastic surgery. At least it looks like the alleged MRSA infection he may or may not have had is gone.”

“Hopefully he decides not to have any more work done and can someday be happy with the Man in The Mirror.“

Plastic surgeon Dr. Paul S. Nassif says, “Michael Jackson doesn’t have anything left to do in the way of plastic surgery.”

If Michael Jackson were to get any surgery, Make Me Heal anticipates that he will get facial plastic surgery, including possible fat transplantation to his face to make it look more youthful and plump, fillers to smooth out wrinkles, and possible eyelid surgery to get rid of any signs of aging around the eyes.

Manhattan plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says, “Michael Jackson is obviously no stranger to plastic surgery.  Hopefully his tissues have had plenty of time to recuperate since the last time he went under the knife.  He should leave what is left of his nose alone.  If anything, he may benefit from fillers or gaining some weight to help bulk up his gaunt looking face. “

Indeed it seems that Michael should be practicing to be onstage again, not focusing on his appearance as it has gotten him into a great deal of trouble in the past. His retirement shows (and comeback) is set to begin this July with a series of 10 concerts at London’s O2 Arena, being called “This is It.“

At a press conference, Michael said, “These will be my final shows performing in London. “This Is It” really means this is it.“

Plastic Surgeon Dr. Sherrel J. Aston says, “Michael Jackson has finally healed from having had  many plastic surgery procedures in the past. Remember when he was wearing a bandage on his nose? He should not have any plastic surgery ever again. He will make a dramatic comeback if he just concentrates on his music.”

Make Me Heal enjoys the legendary performer and hopes he eventually feels secure enough to go out without the mask and without the plastic surgery.

Sports fans everywhere have been puzzling about the altered appearance of sports writer Bob Ryan. Although mainly known for his column, Bob occasionally appears on television to lend his expertise. It seems that he got carried away trying to look good for the camera and ended up with some bad plastic surgery.

Never a looker, 63-year old Bob has recently taken on a very odd appearance, with his swollen-looking lips and overly arched brows. His entire face has a preternaturally pulled appearance, indicating a possible over-zealous facelift, browlift and either an allergic reaction or lip fillers, which are unusual for a man.

New York City plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer says, “Comparing the most recent photo of Bob Ryan to previous images, Bob’s eyebrows appear elevated and peaked in their center. Due to the lack of evidence of incisions one may suspect an endoscopic brow lift. However the unnatural kink in the center of each brow leads to the suspicion of a thread brow lift. I don’t know what’s going on with his lips. It is either a bad allergic reaction or some overzealous injections. Hopefully they will look better when the swelling goes down.”

Bob’s new appearance draws comparisons to clowns, with his over-inflated lips, and other victims of bad plastic surgery.

Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, Calif., says, “It looks as though he’s had a brow lift, facelift, lips injected with a filler. He looks pulled, unnatural and absolutely fake. Like Burt Reynolds.”

Male plastic surgery, especially around the eyes, can leave men with a somewhat feminine appearance like Kenny Rogers. Men usually don’t use lip fillers because they too can look somewhat feminine.

Some sources have attributed Bob’s new appearance to a dermatological procedure to prevent cancer, although it is unclear how that would affect his appearance so drastically.

Make Me Heal thinks that until his plastic surgery settles in, or his allergic reaction dissipates, it is best if Bob sticks to writing his commentary rather than going live.

Since the initial reports of a single mother giving birth to octuplets began, more and more bizarre tidbits have leaked out, including visuals of the mother, who bears a striking resemblance to actress Angelina Jolie. As Nadya is not related to the actress, it seems plastic surgery must play a role rather than genes.

33-year old Nadya shocked the world when she gave birth to octoplets. Then people were further shocked to find out that she was already the mother of six other children. After keeping her identity concealed for a few days, Nadya has recently begun making public appearances. She has appeared on talk shows and also has become the latest passion for papparrazi, nicknamed “Octo-Mom.” Many were stunned to see the resemblance that Nadya bears to actress Angelina Jolie, a clear example of plastic surgery.

Nadya’s rumored to have had plastic surgery in the past, in the form of a nose job and lip implants, but Make Me Heal suspects she has had a lot more work than that, given her truly odd appearance that differs greatly from old photos of the notorious mother.

In addition to a nose job and lip augmentation, Nadya may also have cheek implants, like Angelina is rumored to have done (See Make Me Heal’s story on Angelina Jolie’s plastic surgery) as well as Botox and other facial fillers.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Jennifer Walden agrees with Make Me Heal’s assessment, saying, “Nadya Suleman seems to have altered her face in attempts to resemble Angelina Jolie (without the inherent beauty and incredible genetics handed down by Jolie’s parents, by the way). She looks like she has had lip soft tissue fillers, Botox and possible cheek implants and a rhinoplasty.”

Like many, Dr. Walden goes on to wonder how the unemployed mother supports her kids and plastic surgery habit, as well as offers advice on another type of doctor the troubled young woman should consult:

“She is working our government’s system to her benefit if she has spent what money she does have on those procedures instead of the little kids, and in my opinion really just needs a psychiatrist. Her plastic surgeon and fertility specialist are just as irresponsible as she is if they knowingly took money from someone on food stamps to make her face look as blown up as it is, and give her 8 more kids to care for at the taxpayer’s expense.”

Although Nadya has denied having plastic surgery, the results seem obvious, whether or not you think she resembles the 2009 Best Actress nominee (See Make Me Heal’s story on the 2009 Oscars).

Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, Calif., said, “Ms. Suleman has definitely had an over-aggressive rhinoplasty. I personally don’t think that her nose looks like Angelina Jolie’s. Her lips are over-inflated with some type of filler, possibly silicone as compared to her before photos.”

Nadya has also been said to have had breast implants placed when she was 18, before she began having large amounts of children. Nadya has also been criticized for having acrylic nails and seems to take good care of her skin, having facials and possibly other procedures that a new mother usually doesn’t have time or funds for.

Like the rest of the world, Make Me Heal continues to read more about the mother of 14 with morbid fascination as more and more bizarre details of her story are revealed. We agree wholeheartedly with Dr. Walden that the only doctor seeing Nadya should be a mental health professional.

Saturday Night Live alum Cheri Oteri seems to be funnier looking these days than she is funny, a certain result of plastic surgery.

46-year old Cheri Oteri should be beginning to show signs of aging, but instead the funny lady is just showing signs of over-zealous plastic surgery.

Cheri Oteri has likely had a facelift, which has left her face pulled a little too tight, given it an almost shiny appearance. She may have also had an eyelift, because her eyes look even smaller than used to and may have been pulled too tightly as well during a blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery).

Cheri’s nose also appears to be a little thinner, which is the result of a conservative rhinoplasty, leaving her with a more elegant and less rounded nasal tip.

Many also suspect that Cheri has had a chin implant, as her chin seems more pronounced, giving her face a more oval shape than it had previously. This would make sense, as chin implants often go together with rhinoplasty procedures. Although Cheri is best known for her characters on SNL, she still pops up in various movies and television shows, playing kooky characters. She likely maintains her wrinkle-free look with facial fillers and Botox and possible laser treatments as well, which would also contribute to the shiny look.

Although it’s hard to grow old gracefully and naturally, plastic surgery can help folks appear younger longer. However, having too many procedures all at once often makes people look strange, rather than younger or better and Cheri seems to have learned this lesson the hard way.

The recent film The Wrestler was a big hit with critics and viewers alike, earning the two big names in the big picture, Mickey Rourke and Marisa Tomei, Oscar nominations. Make Me Heal takes a look back at the unlikely pair’s plastic surgery and also looks ahead to see what could be done to help their looks in the future.

Before becoming an actor, 52-year old Mickey Rourke was a boxer. Since changing careers, Mickey has also changed his face, becoming a notorious example of bad plastic surgery. In the past, Mickey has had several procedures, including at least one overly tight facelift, possible chin, cheek and lower lip implants and possible multiple nose jobs, in part to correct damage from his boxing past. (See Make Me Heal’s story on Mickey Rourke’s bad plastic surgery).

Although his appearance contrasts sharply with that of most handsome leading men, Mickey managed to perform well enough in The Wrestler to win a Golden Globe and be nominated for an Oscar in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role category.

To help improve his looks for his upcoming roles, including Iron Man 2, coming next year, Make Me Heal asked plastic surgeons how Mickey could best improve his botched plastic surgeries.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Sherrell J. Aston says, “Mickey Rourke did a terrific job in The Wrestler. He should use some of his best wrestling holds on anyone who comes near him for any cosmetic procedure for the foreseeable future including injectables of all kinds.”

Dr. Paul S. Nassif, a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Rhinoplasty Specialist in Beverly Hills, Calif., said, “Obviously, Mickey Rourke looks as if he is overdone and stretched. He probably had cheek implants, face lift, brow lift, upper blepharoplasty and lip fillers, possibly something permanent.”

“It is difficult to reverse any of this, except to put in smaller cheek implants or remove and revise the facelift to change the vector of pull so that it’s not so surgical. However, the eyes and lips can’t be reversed.”

Make Me Heal congratulates both Mickey and Marisa on their nominations and looks forward to seeing the beauty and the beast at the Oscars ceremony next month.
