Belly Button Plastic Surgery On The Rise

Posted on June 29th, 2007 in Procedures & Breakthroughs by Andrea Markovits

As more and more women wear belly shirts, low-rise jeans, and other fashions that bare the navel, the previously overlooked belly button is the new hot item on the growing list of body features that women obsess about. As more people engage in navel-gazing, those who don’t like what they see are increasingly going under the knife to convert their undesirable “outie” belly buttons to the fashionably-acceptable “innie”.

Belly Button, Plastic Surgery, Navel, Umbilicoplasty

Called an umbilicoplasty, or belly-button surgery, this procedure has been occasionally performed for medical reasons, such as a hernia. But in recent years, most umbilicoplasties have been done mostly for cosmetic reasons. Outies are “out,” innies are “in.” Many women have the procedure done following pregnancy, which may cause those who once had innies to develop outies.

According to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, over 8,000 umbilicoplasty surgeries were performed between 2002 and 2005. But these numbers only tell part of the story, as surgeons are performing hundreds more belly button surgeries in combination with tummy tucks. With a range of age groups undergoing the procedure, it has become evident that the desire to turn outies to innies transcends both generations and fashion trends. More than a fad, the innie belly button aesthetic appears to be on its way to becoming a social beauty standard.

The umbilicus or “belly button” is a scar that heals after the umbilical cord detaches from the body following birth. Its shape is determined by the attachment of one’s skin to the underlying muscle. Doctors say that the way in which this scar forms or attaches to the muscle is arbitrary. Dr. Michael Bermant, a plastic surgeon, explains that innie scars “curve into the deepest component of that area” and outie scars heal with “an extra bubble of tissue.” The shape of the belly button is also influenced by the tightness of one’s skin, the amount of fat under the skin, or occurrences such as umbilical hernias.

Typically, umbilicoplasty may be performed in an outpatient setting under local anesthesia, normally lasting about one hour. The surgery usually takes place in a doctor’s office operating room, but a surgical facility may be used if the umbilicoplasty is combined with other plastic surgical procedures, such as a tummy tuck. In his article, “Umbilicoplasty: conversion of ‘outie’ to ‘innie’,” plastic surgeon Dr. Darryl Hodgkinson explains the process of an umbilicoplasty. First, the umbilical scar, or “outie” belly button is cut. Then, using 2 skin flaps, one to line the reconstructed tube and the other to form the superior hood, or top bit of overhanging skin, the “innie” is formed using sutures. The procedure involves a minimal amount of pain, if any. Possible risks include scarring, infections, or the need for further surgeries. Patients may return home immediately after the surgery, and many resume normal daily activities within days. Swelling and bruising are typical immediately following the surgery. Incisions are hidden within the belly button and sutures are either dissolvable or removed in 7 to 10 days. According to data compiled by the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the average cost of an umbilicoplasty is $1,688. However, this price varies from city to city and does not include the cost of anesthetics or the surgical facility. With these additional costs, the price frequently ranges from $2,000 to $4,000.

Clive Thompson for the New York Times Magazine wrote in December of 2002, “Consider what’s going on here: a style of clothing is driving a style of surgery. But with umbilicoplasty, the body has become as plastic as fashion — to be nipped and tucked along with trends that themselves might last only a matter of months.” However, it is clear that this procedure is not the result of a fleeting trend, as Thompson suggested. Five years after his article, umbilicoplasties are as popular as ever.

In this area of physical appearance, most people seem to share the same sentiment, regarding innies as more attractive than outies overall. Researchers from the division of plastic surgery at the University of Missouri, Columbia, published an article entitled, “In search of the ideal female umbilicus,” which supports this notion. The article discussed what researchers found to be the preferred appearance for the umbilicus, or belly button. 147 females, between the ages of 18 and 62 years, had their belly buttons photographed. These pictures were then scored by a panel, rating their level of attractiveness. The T- or vertically shaped belly button scored the highest, while larger belly buttons, those with any amount of protrusion, horizontal orientation, or distorted shape scored lower. The “T” shape they mention is created by a tiny bit of skin overhanging the top part of the belly button. These findings, which support the idea that people typically find innies to be more attractive than outies, may help to explain why so many people are undergoing this procedure.

Although patients may have differing reasons or motives for getting an umbilicoplasty, it most often has to do with their wanting to feel more attractive or confident when displaying their bare midriff. The ABC news article, “Some Seek Surgical Solution for ‘Outies,’ Eyebrows: Cosmetic Procedures on the Rise to Perfect Unlikely Body Parts,” details the story of one such woman. Alyssa Jaronko, a fitness instructor and mother of three said, “After I had children, my belly button definitely did not look how it used to. All the exercise I could do in the world was not going to fix this skin.” Dr. Michael Rose, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, agreed with Jaronko. He explains, “From having the children inside of her abdomen, they caused hernias to happen, one actually inside the belly button which pushed the belly button out and gave her an outie,” he said. After her umbilicoplasty, Jaronko is now more confident, and is excited to be able to once again wear bikinis and have the stomach she did before having children. Dr. Rose says, “Springtime is always when we see a huge spike in cosmetic procedures that affect the body. People are thinking about the beach and how they’re going to look.”

Whether it be for their eyes only, for a significant other, or for the eyes of the public at the beach, people can feel more confident in their appearance when baring their stomachs thanks to this plastic surgery procedure.

George Clooney’s New Tummy Scar: Plastic Surgery?

Posted on June 29th, 2007 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Lisa Stern

Photos just obtained of George Clooney sporting a fresh scar across his stomach has prompted insiders to wonder if the Ocean’s 13 star has gotten plastic surgery and specifically if it was a tummy tuck or liposuction. Could the 46-year old “Sexiest Man Alive” title holder be trying to keep his good looks with a little help from the knife?

Scroll below picture for more

George Clooney, Tummy Tuck, Liposuction

Seen shirtless on his yacht in Italy in a pair of shorts, photos of 46-year old Clooney reveal what appears to be a 6 to 7 inch horizontal scar right above his belly button. While gossip rags are claiming the scar is the result of a tummy tuck or liposuction, an examination of the photos by Make Me Heal and consulting plastic surgeons reveals that no cosmetic surgery has been undertaken by Clooney and that these rumors are completely unfounded. Liposuction scars are minimal, as the incisions are very small and lead to minimal scarring. As for the tummy tuck claim, the placement of Clooney’s scar being above the belly button dismisses this possibility because tummy tuck incisions are made on the very lowest part of the abdomen and lead to scarring that is right above one’s underwear/bikini line. As a result, it is not reasonable that a plastic surgeon would perform a tummy tuck where the scar line would be visible when a person is wearing a pair of shorts. Dr. Lucy Glancey also dismissed the tummy tuck rumors, saying “Anything like a tummy tuck would usually be lower down.”

Being that the photo is not taken close, it is also possible that the seeming scar is actually a skin fold in Clooney’s stomach. This theory is being supported by Dr. Glancey, who said “It’s possibly the result of a hernia scar or it could be a skin crease.”

Publicist Stan Rosenfield has denied that Clooney has a scar or had any cosmetic surgery, saying the horizontal line is a skin crease caused by the star’s weight loss since his last film. “It’s probably just from putting on the weight he lost from filming during his last movie,” says Rosenfield.

Other insiders have suggested that the scar may be connected to a scar that Clooney has from an accident during filming of “Syriana” a few years ago. Due to the accident, Clooney has a scar running from the base of his spine up to his neck. “There’s a lot of spinal surgery that’s done from the front. It’s a bit higher than I’d expect for a spine scar but it is possible,” says surgeon John Getty from the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield about the possibility that the tummy scar is associated with the surgery Clooney had on his back and neck. Clooney is no stranger to plastic surgery rumors, though. Back in February of this year, Clooney said in a television interview with Julia Roberts that he had his eyes done to get rid of the “tired” look. “I had my eyes done. Can you tell? I think it’s important to look awake,” said Clooney in the interview. Due to the star’s history of playing jokes with the media, this confession was not taken with complete seriousness. But when the star appeared at Cannes two months ago, it seemed that George Clooney’s statement may be true after all (Read the full article on George Clooney’s Plastic Surgery Rumors).

New photos of Clooney reveal remarkable results, as the star no longer has the under-eye bags and his eyes are more open. The results look natural and Clooney has avoided the “surprised” look that can happen in a bad blepharoplasty (eye lift). Clooney looks the same, only better. Clooney appears to have a had a full blepharoplasty on both his upper and lower eyelids and had excess skin and fat pockets removed. Additionally, Clooney’s crows feet (the lines that emanate from the corner of his eyes) appear softer and less pronounced, a likely result of the eyelid surgery and possible Botox or Restylane injections.

Before photos of Clooney show droopy lids and skin that hung over his eyes and caused them to look smaller and squinty. Also, it is likely that loss of eye muscle strength and the thinning of eye skin (due to loss of collagen in the dermis) in the undereye region has caused pockets of fat to bulge out and appear below his eye. But now, these signs of aging have been reversed and are no longer apparent on Clooney’s eye area.

21 Year Old Emily’s Plastic Surgery Brings Back Sexy

Posted on June 29th, 2007 in Personal Stories of Real People by Makemeheal.com Staff

For 21-year old Emily Simmons (member name: lil_em20), getting a breast augmentation has been the best decision she has taken for herself. Emily is simply irresistible with her new twins and feels much more confident and sexy.

Breast Augmentation Pictures, Implants, Photos

See Emily’s Before & After Plastic Surgery Pictures Album.

After years of feeling boyish with her 32A breasts, the British young women went under the knife last summer and got herself 32DD Mentor Round Moderate Plus Profile textured implants placed over the muscle with an inframmary incision (breast fold/crease). Make Me Heal checked in with Emily at the one year anniversary to see how Emily feels about her plastic surgery experience. Suffice to say, And since one year, Emily wears proudly a 32 DD and happily threw away her 32 A bras…

Before deciding whether to have a breast augmentation, Emily researched the procedure for about a year and looked at many before/after plastic surgery pictures on the Make Me Heal website to determine what type of implants to get and how many CCs she wanted for her implants.

Emily is extremely happy with her results and strongly suggest to everyone: “You must research into every aspect of the procedure so you are aware of any complications that could occur and also find out tips for recovery. Make sure you decide that you 100% want the procedure before going ahead.”

Make Me Heal: When did you first have the idea to have your breast augmentation?

Emily: August 2006

Make Me Heal: What were your motivations behind your decision to have the procedure?

Emily: I wanted to be more in proportion, to increase my confidence.

Make Me Heal: How long did it take you to make a decision and was it an easy or difficult one to make?

Emily: I thoroughly researched the procedure for a couple of months before making a decision on whether to go ahead with the procedure. I looked into the advantages and disadvantages as well as the complications that could occur. I went to a surgeon who my mum had been to and therefore felt confident that I would end up with a great result. The decision was an easy one.

Make Me Heal: Did your family, friends, and any other people in your close circle give you support, opposition, or did you make this decision without considering them?

Emily: I consulted my Mum about it who said if I wanted it done and researched it enough then I should do, it if it was definitely what I wanted.

Make Me Heal: How did you research the procedure and come to decide on this particular procedure?

Emily: I used forums and “websited” to find answers to questions and to view before and after photos.

Make Me Heal: Please discuss your research process and all research sources you used.

Emily: I emailed people who had gone through with the procedure asking them questions, I also posted questions on forums and viewed before and after photos.

Make Me Heal: Please discuss if you used any of Make Me Heal’s resources.

Emily: I used the message boards and the pictures library.

Make Me Heal: How did you come to choose your doctor?

Emily: I went to the same doctor my mum went to 15 years ago, and only had that one consultation. I wouldn’t have been happy going to a doctor that hadn’t been recommended.

Make Me Heal: Please discuss if you have any role in deciding the type of technique used for your surgery by the doctor?

Emily: My surgeon let me choose between 2 sizes of implants that he felt would suit my body size.

Make Me Heal: How were you feeling the night before the surgery and on the moments before the surgery itself?

Emily: I was nervous yet extremely excited as I knew it would be a life changing thing.

Make Me Heal: How was the recovery process?

Emily: It went well. I had an aching pain which lasted about 7 days and was at its worse on the 6th day as this is when the bruising seemed to come out. It was difficult to move my arms too much but this subsided after about 9 days. I wasn’t able to shower properly until my stitches had been removed at day 10. I wore a tight compression bra 24/7 for 6 weeks. After 6 weeks, I was allowed to wear normal bras.

Make Me Heal: What side effects you experienced?

Emily: I had a reaction to the anesthetic so I was very sick for the first 2 days and couldn’t eat anything. The worst part of the recovery was day 6 when the bruising came out and it was painful to move around.

Make Me Heal: Please discuss the pain or discomfort you experienced during the recovery?

Emily: It was an aching sensation rather than a full on pain.

Make Me Heal: How well prepared were you for the recovery from physical, emotional, and mental respects? Did you do any research to make your recovery smoother?

Emily: I researched thoroughly therefore I was prepared for the recovery.

Make Me Heal: What are your top recovery tips to other patients?

Emily: Take it easy and try to get someone to help you do the day to day things you need to do.

Make Me Heal: How happy are you with the results?

Emily: I am extremely happy, no regrets.

Make Me Heal: How has your makeover impacted your life?

Emily: I feel more like a woman rather than looking like a child, this has then increased my confidence so much.

Make Me Heal:
Would you have done anything differently if you had the chance?

Emily: Nope

Make Me Heal: What is your final word of advice to other people considering the procedure you had?

Emily: You must research into every aspect of the procedure so you are aware of any complications that could occur and also find out tips for recovery etc. Follow your surgeon’s advice and find your perfect surgeon before rushing into it. Make sure you decide that you 100% want the procedure before going ahead.

Make Me Heal: Was Make Me Heal beneficial to you along your journey?

Emily: Yes Make Me Heal was very beneficial. It allowed me to view other peoples’ experiences and complications as well and ask questions. I wasn’t sure about it and view a lot of before and after photos.

See Emily’s Before & After Plastic Surgery Pictures Album.

June Celebrity Plastic Surgery Wardrobe Malfunctions

Posted on June 29th, 2007 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Jet H. Ross

Recently Make Me Heal was the first to coin the term plastic surgery wardrobe malfunctions (much like Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunction) in honor of phenomenons where celebrities’ cosmetic surgeries reveal their tell-tale signs in aesthetically unappealing ways. Most frequent occurences of malfunctions are with breast implants which ripple and dimple in the chest area, causing one’s chest to look bumpy, uneven, and appear as if it has been indented. Breast implant malfunctions of this type often occur with celebrities whose implants may be too large for their frame, or when stars wear tight, chest-bearing clothing. This week’s breast implant malfunctions include the following:

Janet Jackson

First came Janet Jackson’s famous wardrobe malfunction at the Superbowl. Now Janet’s side view of her breast implants reveal some embarrasing implant indentations due to rippling.

Janet Jackson, Breast Implants

Courtney Love

If it wasn’t enough that Courtney Love had a botched nose surgery, she now also has a breast implant malfunction added to her plastic surgery record.

Courtney Love, Breast Implants

Vivica Fox

Vivica Fox chose the wrong oufit to show off her assets, as she should have checked herself in the mirror to make sure that her implants were not in ripple and bumpy mode before stepping out into the night. Vivica is also rumored to have a nose job and to use Botox injectiosn or other dermal fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm to achieve her wrinkle-free forehead and laugh-line free smile.

BET’s Black Plastic Surgery Awards

Besides honoring the best of black and minority entertainers, the 7th Annual BET Awards on Tuesday was also a celebration of the best and worse in plastic surgery. The evening proved to be entertaining and educational for Make Me Heal, as some new nominees came up on our “did-she-have-plastic-surgery” radar, including Jennifer Hudson, Selita Ebanks, Amerie, Eva Pigford, Kelly Rowland, and others. There was also no shortage of celebrities who are confirmed to have had plastic surgery, including Beyonce, Vivica Fox, Diana Ross, Lil’ Kim, and Patti LaBelle, to name a few.

Here’s a rundown of our Black Plastic Surgery Awards Nominees:

Sweetest Plastic Surgery Hangover

Diana Ross, Plastic Surgery, FaceliftBeing that Diana Ross was honored with a lifetime achievement award at last night’s awards show, we thought that we would take a closer look at the 63-year old ageless diva and see if she has any cosmetic achievements to her name. While Diana Ross has spoken against plastic surgery and mentioned that her four kids would stop her if she were to consider going under the knife, it is a bit difficult to believe that a woman of her age would have little sagging skin or jowls on her face, no under eye bags, a perfectly tight neck, and a low incidence of facial wrinkles. While we acknowledge that Ross may have great genes, it is quite possible that a facelift, necklift and eyelid surgery have been done. Additionally, Diana may be using botox or other dermal fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm to temporarily erases facial lines and wrinkles. When asked about plastic surgery, Diana Ross dismissed it, saying “My kids would be really upset if I did anything like that, and I’ve seen so many pretty girls mess themselves up, and you can’t turn things around.”

Real Or Fake?

Selita Ebanks, Plastic SurgeryVictoria’s Secret and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Selita Ebanks wore a scintillating black number to the awards. On everyone’s mind, though, are two questions: whether she will marry her fiancé triple-threat rapper, actor, and comedian Nick Cannon or ditch him once her acting career takes off and whether her breasts are real or fake. As a model (measurements: 33-24-34), Selita has a svelte, thin figure and her nice-size breasts (which appear to be small 33C cups) understandably seem to some people to be out of proportion with her thin frame. In some photos, her breasts look like “bolt-ons”, which is a common tell tale sign of breast implants acquired by thin women. One possible explanation for this is a breast augmentation. If Selita did get breast implants, they are certainly small and do not scream fake. Either way, Nick Cannon is one happy camper when nestled in the safety of her bosom.

A Whole Lot On Top

Jennifer Hudson, Breast Implants, AugmentationWinning Best Actress at the BET Awards, Jennifer Hudson did not fail to show off her copious breasts in her awards outfit, again causing us to scratch our heads wondering if her breast growth since her days on American Idol is due to natural weight gain or breast implants. While in her American Idol days, J. Hud’s breasts did not seem to fill her tops, since late 2006 and onwards Jennifer’s breasts seem to overflow out of her dresses. One possible explanation for this may be a breast augmentation.

Sources which speculate that Jennifer Hudson got breast implants have shown photos of the singer/actress with her breasts protruding out of her dress and having an unnatural roundness. If one takes a close look at the Hudson pictures, one sees that while in the past her breasts seem to fit perfectly into her dress, now they seem unnaturally rounder than usual and seem to have trouble staying inside her dress. And while now they balance out the rest of her full-figured body, they sometimes do look unreal, very much like implants.

On the other hand, Jennifer Hudson’s breasts could be natural, as she is a curvy, voluptuous woman who always had large breasts. Additionally, it appears that Jennifer may have gained some weight in the last few years which could potentially have gone right to her breasts and can explain the increasing boob size since a few years ago.

It goes against logic that Jennifer Hudson would want to get implants to boost her already large bust, as that would only cause her breasts to sag more and make her look bigger overall. If anything, some pictures show slight breast sagging, which would make J. Hud a candidate for a breast lift combined with a breast reduction.

See the complete plastic surgery profile of Jennifer Hudson on Plasticopedia, the celebrity plastic surgery encyclopedia.

The Nose Job That Did Wonders

Amerie, Nose Job, Plastic Surgery

Singer Amerie got a nose job after the release of her first album “All I Have” (2002), as her new sculpted nose is dramatically thinner and her nose bridge is more projected and curved as opposed to the old nose which was wider and flatter and a bridge that lacked definition. Additionally, the tip has gained definition and is narrower and is more pinched and more raised than her old nose tip. The nose job has done wonders for the half Black-half Korean singer’s look (and probably her career too), as the new version of Amerie is indisputably prettier than her pre-knife looks. The plastic surgery was well done, as it has not taken away from Amerie’s ethnic identity. Amerie’s example underscores just how much a great nose job can do to improve a person’s appearance.

Bitten By The Beyonce Plastic Surgery Bug?

Kelly Rowland, Nose Job, RhinoplastyKelly Rowland, Beyonce, and Michelle Williams appeared onstage together at the awards, perhaps signaling an imminent reunion of Destiny’s Child for a new album. Kelly may have taken out a page from Beyonce’s plastic surgery diary when she unveiled a new nose after the completion of the band’s last album “Fulfilled”. Kelly’s new nose is a dramatic improvement over her previous nose, which had a wider bridge and more bulbous tip than her more sophisticated new nose. The new nose has a narrower bridge and the tip is smaller and more projected out. Being that Beyonce’s nose job was such a success, this makes us wonder if Kelly and Beyonce might have shared the masterful nose job surgeon.

In addition to getting a nose job, Kelly Rowland wisely redid her teeth, as her smile now boasts pearly whites which are the probably outcome of tooth veeners.

Plasticlicioius

Capturing two awards for best Female R&B Artist and Video Of The Year for “Irreplaceable”, Beyonce gave viewers quite a show when she performed “Get Me Bodied” in gold robot gear that she stripped down later to gold pants a matching bra top.

Beyonce Knowles, Breast Implants, Plastic Surgery

Seeing Beyonce in her trademarked abdomen-baring and breast revealing outfit made us smile and think about her alleged breast augmentation. Beyonce’s alleged breast augmentation can be seen from comparing photos taken in 2002 and 2005 that show a substantial increase in her bust. “She appears to have had a possible breast augmentation, which successfully enhances her otherwise naturally curvy physique,” said Dr. Anthony Youn. In another picture, it appears Knowles has had a breast augmentation through the armpit. Breast implants can be placed, if need be, usually through the armpit, underneath the breast, and around the areola. The implants are often placed through the armpit in people with darker skin, as this area is known to be resistant to keloid formation, which people of darker skin are more prone to.

Beyonce is also rumored to had a nose job during her Destiny’s Child years.

Beyonce Knowles, Nose Job, RhinoplastyPhotos of Beyonce through the last decade show that her formerly bigger and thicker nose has been thinned, the bridge is more chiseled, and the tip of her nose is quite a bit pointier than before. The aesthetic results are remarkable, although some have argued that Beyonce’s new nose makes her look less African-American. Plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn confirmed this rumor, saying “It does appear that her nose has been thinned to look more elegant. It matches her face well, is not overdone, and overall looks great. She has extraordinary grace in front of the camera.”

Beyonce has recently become the target of rumors about her having liposuction to achieve her washboard stomach. These rumors are false. Read the full article about Beyonce’s Liposuction rumors.

A Perfect Nose From Every Angle

Eva Pigford, Nose Job, Plastic Surgery

Eva Pigford, America’s Next Top Model winner and host of BET’s My Model Looks Better Than Your Model, has a perfect nose from every angle. While before pictures of Eva were not readily available at press time, it is rumored that Eva’s nose was sculpted by a skillful plastic surgeon and that she got her nose job sometime in her teens while attending Washington Preparatory High School in South Central, Los Angeles. Eva’s perfectly chiseled nose might be a God-given gift, although the odds are more in favor of a surgeon’s scalpel having performed some magic on her nose. The perfectly angled bridge, perfectly symmetrical nose, and perfectly pinched tip all signal to a nose that was shaped by plastic surgery. Nose job or not, Eva, the self-professed Diva, is strikingly beautiful and her rumored nose job has only served to accentuate her natural beauty.

It’s for good reason that Lil’ Kim paid homage to Eva the Diva in her song “I Know You See Me”, in the line “On the cover of Don Divas, doing spreads with Eva.”

The Poster Child For Plastic Surgery Addiction

Lil Kim, Plastic Surgery, Breast ImplantsSpeaking of Lil’ Kim, the rapper performed “Last Night” on stage with P. Diddy and Keyshia Cole at the BET awards. Lil’ Kim has had the misfortune of becoming the poster child for plastic surgery addiction, composed of breast implants, nose job, skin whitening procedures, endoscopic brow lift (forehead lift), lip augmentation, and possible cheek implants. The media and fans alike may be too critical of her transformation, as Lil’ Kim is nothing close to true plastic surgery nightmare such as Jocelyne Wildenstein or Pete Burns. True, that the result of this cosmetic concotion is a person who does not even remotely look like their former self. True, that Lil’ Kim has lost much of her black ethnicity and looks completely overdone in a plastic kind of way. True, her mega sized breasts are far too big for her frame and her cheek implants, cute pinched nose, and lips look incredibly fake. True, her blue contact lenses make her cartoon-like. But despite all of the above true-isms, if one looked at Lil’ Kim without knowing what she looked like prior to her makeover, one could say that is cute…albeit, in a fake plasticky kind of way. This look does actually fly in some circles and is sought after. For this reason, we think that the ever-morphing Lil’ Kim probably sought this look.

But we do have one plea, stop the surgery as one more pass under the knife could turn this into a nightmare and catapult Lil’ Kim to the Wildenstein stratosphere of plastic surgery horrors.

See the complete plastic surgery profile of Lil’ Kim on Plasticopedia, the celebrity plastic surgery encyclopedia.

The Black Melanie Griffith?

Vivica Fox, Plastic Surgery, Breast ImplantsVivica Fox may have unfairly become the target of gossipers whose depiction of her going too far in her plastic surgery escapades make her out to be the equivalent of a black Melanie Griffith. Vivica started out with breast implants, which may have helped her get attention from rap stars such as former boyfriend 50 Cent. It is also rumored that Vivica’s perfectly chiseled nose and defined bridge are the result of a nose job. Now, it seems that Vivica dabbles with Botox injections or other dermal fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm to achieve her wrinkle-free forehead and laugh-line free smile. While we do not care for some of Vivica’s recent displays of her breast implants (see Vivica Fox’s breast implants malfunction photos) that show her saline implants rippling and causing her chest to look bumpy and indented, we think otherwise she is a pretty woman who is aging well and using the knife to her advantage. Despite her cosmetic procedures, Vivica’s ethnic characteristics have also been preserved and she has avoided getting features that would make her look overly caucasian. Additionally, she has avoided skin bleaching and retained her original skin color. We also salute Vivica Fox for her brave honesty about her plastic surgery procedures, which she calls “tune-ups”. Vivica explains, “This is how I feel about life; as long as you keep getting better, whatever it takes to get you there, you do it. If you’re comfortable with it — you like it, I love it.

Incidentally, Vivica Fox is set to star in an upcoming movie about Whitney Houston, another fan of plastic surgery who has gotten a boob job and is rumored to have had liposuction and other facial rejuvenation procedures.

See the complete plastic surgery profile of Vivica Fox on Plasticopedia, the celebrity plastic surgery encyclopedia.

Patti’s Plastic Surgery Cocktail?

Patti LaBelle appeared at the awards last night during a tribute to Gerald Levert and her 63-year young, wrinkle-free face immediately set off the plastic surgery alarm.

Patti Labelle, Nose Job, Plastic SurgeryPatti’s lack of wrinkles, little signs of sagging skin, taut neck, refreshed eyes, and generally youthful complexion hint at a possible facelift, necklift, forehead lift, and eyelid surgery. While Patti LaBelle’s plastic surgery cocktail is not confirmed, it is difficult to believe that Patti would manage to evade the ravages of aging naturally.

Patti is already a plastic surgery aficionado, having had a nose job back in the days which made her nose less broad, with a narrower tip and smaller nostrils, and a defined bridge. Speaking about her nose job, Patti said “I was afraid people would be able to look at me and say, ‘Oh yeah, she had a nose job!’ I also wanted to make sure I still had a black nose. I didn’t want to go extremes and have a very small nose.”

While we did not care for Patti’s outfit and Snow White wig (which TMZ so aptly called), the singer is looking attractive and her plastic surgery, if done, is natural looking.
