Shakira, the coveted pop princess of “Hips That Don’t Lie” and “Breasts Like Mountains” may be under a little bit of questioning lately for possible plastic surgery rumors of her having a possible nose job. The world most fondly remembers this belly dancing singing sensation for her constant referral to her body in most of her top selling singles. It has been Shakira’s staple, and with all due respect has worked out quite favorably. Now, it is only reasonable one may wonder if Shakira’s main assets have all been inherited naturally or if any part of her body (like her nose) has met the plastic surgeon’s knife.

The 30-year old Colombian celebrity has denied having plastic surgery in the past, although she has admitted that she previously flirted with the idea of going under the knife on various occasions to have different procedures including a breast augmentation and lip enhancement.

Speaking about plastic surgery, Shakira said “A few years ago, I considered (plastic) surgery, breast augmentation, and all kinds of things. Maybe my eyebrows should be higher. Maybe my lips should be bigger. It was really making me bitter. I’d think I’m not going to look good for my fans! But eventually I said, “forget it” and I started accepting myself the way I am and realized that I’m just not perfect.”

When looking at photos of Shakira since her 1991 musical debut through recent photos, one cannot help but see a dramatic improvement in Shakira’s look. Whether this is only due to Shakira maturing gracefully and having various beauty styling experts at her side is possible, but one cannot help but notice a striking difference in the shape of her nose. In older photos, Shakira’s nose appears to have a wider bridge and a more bulbous tip. Her more recent photos show a slimmer bridge and narrower tip, and simply put a more refined and attractive version of her nose, which aided in softening her overall look and creating a more feminine appeal. While the case for a nose job is quite good, the jury is out on whether this is simply a trick of lighting or cosmetic surgery.

It’s safe to say that nose job or not, Shakira’s beauty has captured our senses with her impeccable rhythm for music and talent for dance. If a little slimming of Shakira’s nose was felt necessary, so be it as it was all for the better. A fan of blown-up, lip augmented lips for years, 43-year old Courtney Love is planning to have more plastic surgery to fix her enhanced lips and restore a natural look.

Love had enhanced her lips a number of years ago with what appears to be a semi-permanent filler like Gore-tex or silicone, the result of which has left her lips looking permanently uneven. Love regrets having had lip augmentation, referring to this period as her “my dark years” and admits that there was nothing wrong with her lips in the first place, saying her mouth “was perfectly cute”. Love has also had two botched nose jobs, which she fixed earlier this year in January with a French plastic surgeon. Now, it appears that Love is still not happy with the look of her lips and wants to undergo another corrective cosmetic surgery on her lips. Love wrote on her Myspace.com blog that she vows to return to her French plastic surgeon to fix her lips and restore a natural look.

“My mouth still looks wonky. I have to restore myself to not looking ridiculous,“ wrote Love.

In her blog entry, Love wrote in her typical, disoriented manner with spelling mistakes about her plastic surgery rehaul plan and the ordeal she suffered since getting her botched permanent lip augmentation.

Love writes how some plastic surgeon “…did a trout mouth, with a substnce that doesnt fade, so it takes surgery to restore my face to natural, i feel like m,y mouth is too big still so im gonna have to go back and RESTORE it to NATURAL…”

Love is not the first person to suffer bad results with semi-permanent and permanent lip fillers, as using such fillers poses the risk of getting undesirable results that cannot fade away. Whereas temporary fillers such as Collagen, Juvederm or Restylane reabsorb into the body after a few months, long-lasting fillers such as Gore-Tex and silicone can last for several years. In many cases, such long-lasting fillers also have a lumpy feel to them, although this is not visible to the eye but can be felt when the patient touches their lips. Many surgeons recommend that patients first get a temporary filler before considering a long-lasting filler, so as to make sure that the lip filler is providing them the results they want.

Love has had unfortunate luck with plastic surgery, already having three nose jobs, with the latter two done to correct a botched nose job. It may just be that Love will never be able to fully restore her old look and she should be careful from not going overboard with more surgery and trying to correct something that can never be fully restored to how it was originally.

In any twist of irony, Love previously made 53 new year’s resolutions for 2007 on her website, among which was that she’d be giving up plastic surgery. The ever contradictory Courtney Love promised, “No more surgery for any reason other than medical until I really need it in my 60s.”

Iconic sex-pot Kim Kardashian can be spotted just about anywhere a flashing camera, red carpet or where Paris Hilton is propped. This Armenian bronzed brunette beauty has caused quite an uproar and gained serious Hollywood status for her choice in entourage ranging from Paris, to just about anyone in the spotlight at the moment. In addition to her notorious sex tape with Ray-J, the 26-year old step-daughter of plastic surgery addict Bruce Jenner is equally notorious for her behind. A statement is rarely made about the party queen without including graphic comments of her derriere. Many think buttock implants are the culprit behind its distinct ample shape, but perhaps quite the contraire.

While Kim Kardashian’s buttocks are very large and shapely relative to her thin body frame, there are quite a few women who have this body shape from natural genes. While Kim is a fan of plastic surgery, it does not appear that she boosted her butt with implants, as she would have likely opted for a smaller behind if she was getting augmented.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Tony Youn said, “While her [Kim’s] bottom does appear to jut out unnaturally, this may, in fact, be hereditary. I have seen some patients with similar figures who have not had any work done.”

For the many that remain a fan of her bum, and lack those freak of nature genes, the procedure is truly quick and simple. Solid silicone implants or via “fat grafting” are used to create the enhanced size and shape. An incision may be made in any one of the following places: where the cheek meets the back of the thigh, or down the buttock crease. The incision is usually made on the buttock crease to avoid noticeable scars. The surgeon then creates a pocket large enough to insert the implants, either under the gluteus maximus muscle, or on top of it. The entire procedure usually takes two or three hours to complete and the patient is free to return home within a few hours.

Along with the chatter of Kim Kardashian having buttock augmentation is word of her having her breasts augmented, also. Comparing pictures of her in the late teens to present-day pictures, there is certainly a “huge” difference. The size is much larger and more defined, and the only explanation to the burst of perfect growth would be breast implants. Kim sports the tell-tale signs of breast implants, including the rounded and super-projected boob look. Just as her twins have gained some plump-age so have her lips when comparing different photos. Lip injections would be the tool at hand used to create that beautiful pout you see glossed and flawless in all of Kim’s photos. One last possibility in her transformation from a little drab to gliterratti fab would be a nose job. The older black and white photo reveals a larger, more bulbous version of her now teeny tiny perfect little bump. The nose bridge is narrowed and more chiseled compared to her wider tip.

When trying to piece together a shred of explanation to Kim’s drastic sky-rocketed fame that’s been achieved with no real accomplishment, one may find it a little difficult for any tangible conclusion, other than this girl has a few good plastic surgeons, a few good friends, and one very good behind.

Catherine Zeta-Jones’s Wednesday appearance on the David Letterman Show in a scintillating golden mini skirt that boasted decidedly larger-looking breasts renewed rumors that the Welsh actress may have gotten breast implants.

Make Me Heal first reported on this breast augmentation rumor in January of this year when the 37-year old actress was seen on the beaches of St. Barts in a skimpy two-piece swimsuit that revealed strikingly larger breasts than the ones she sported in previous years. While Zeta-Jones’s breasts appear to have grown in volume by at least one cup size or more relative to photos of her seven or eight years ago, the change in breast size may be attributed to her weight gain over the last few years and from having two children.

Moreover, Christine Zeta-Jones’s breasts do not have the typical tell-tale signs of breast implants which are round and upright. Some pictures of Zeta-Jones actually show that she has moderate sagging in her breasts, which would rule out a recent boob job.

On the other hand, some insiders insist that Zeta-Jones had a boob job in the past and that her weight gain over the years alone could not explain the considerable gain in breast volume that she experienced. London-based Plastic surgeon Apostolos Gaitanis claims that Zeta-Jones had a breast augmentation in spite of her having packed on some pounds. “There is a considerable difference in the volume of the breasts. She has put weight on over the years but it looks suspiciously like she has had breast augmentation because the breasts are full and have more volume.” Dr. Gaitanis added that “they look firmer and project to the front. They are very full, which is a sign of a boob job”.

Catherine Zeta Jones dropped a few dress sizes in the last few months, claiming to have gone on a crash diet and exercise regime to shed the pounds. Zeta-Jones previously told how she “ate for Wales” while pregnant with her first son Dylan, now six, putting on 50lbs. The star denies having had any plastic surgery, although it is rumored (and pretty obvious to us) that she had a blepharoplasty (eye lift) in 2001 and that she had previously had her nose done. Moreover, Zeta-Jones flawless and wrinkle-free face suggests use of dermal injection fillers such as Botox, Restylane, or Juvederm and potential potential laser skin procedures and chemical peels.

Sizing up Catherine Zeta-Jones after all her alleged enhancements, she remains a naturally beautiful woman whose work, if any, is subtle and well done. Unfortunately, we cannot say the same about her husband Michael Douglas’s facelift, whose surgery results are disappointing.

Make Me Heal’s Plastic Surgery Police has got a warrant out on Jack Nicholson, who is in desperate need of the knife. The 70-year old actor can be found sporting his five decades in the business like that of an outworn tattered, but somewhat hopeful pair of jeans. You know the pair- the ones you have visions of taking in, resizing, and hemming because you remember just how good they once were, and can’t help but want to show the world their beautiful potential.

For Jack Nicholson, the closest encounter to any form of surgery he’s had would be the makeup and face retouches in Batman, 18 years ago — complete with two raised lines drawn above and along his mouth to resemble some obscene form of a smile — that for two straight hours refused to go away. A less scary version in mind would be some laser treatments, botox, peels, and perhaps eyelid surgery to erase a few of the years on Jack’s face and soften his look to something closer to his younger years of being a Hollywood heart-throb. Such procedures offer noticeable changes right away. Laser treatments are used to diminish wrinkles, by using small lasers that precisely remove tissue in the face without removing blood, to their desired depth and also tightens the collagen fibers revealing a smoother softer face. Botox or Juvederm injections would also be very beneficial in Jack’s case to tighten and reduce his frown lines and the creasing in between his eye and brow. The eye surgery better known as “blepharoplasty” is a procedure that uses small incisions to remove excess skin and fat on the top and bottom lids; this too would assist in recovering the younger, dreamier Jack Nicholson. Perhaps with this surgery underway Jack could attend public events and ceremonies without his coveted dark glasses and be more willing to show his new and improved, youthful eyes. All of these facial procedures will result in no change to Jack’s unique features, leaving him looking naturally refreshed while avoiding the overdone look of some other celebrities.

Being that Jack has little jowling around his jaw and his neck seems to be in pretty good shape without excess skin hanging all over the place, there is no need for a facelift; or perhaps Jack has already visited a plastic surgery before and had a lower facelift to take care of these age-raising issues.

Along with the facial restorative treatments the benefits of liposuction, a tummy tuck, and gynecomastia would be profound. A few too many trips down the pleasure lane of sweets, beer, and in a recent photo-massive hoagies, has Jack’s mid-section resembling a massive lumpy bowl of stretched out goo. The combined effort of lipsuction and a tummy tuck would tighten his buried abdominal muscles, and smooth out the cottage cheese-like effect along his sides and under his “moobs” (man-boobs). A final mid section retouch would be to attack those “moobs” a condition known as gynecomastia. This procedure involves much of the same effort of the two mentioned above in that, incisions made would enable the doctor to remove the excess skin and fat, leaving a tighter more compact version of what could otherwise be exceedingly self-conscious man boobs. Finally, a last recommendation to complete this perfect transformation would be hair plugs, to again erase decades of aging and “top-off” his end result and to show everyone, just how good it CAN get.

The good news is that the procedures can all be done at the same time as a plastic surgery combo. Moreover, the healing time in these procedures would be nothing longer than a few weeks and results would be seen immediately, given proper care and provided that the patient follows the doctor’s recommendations for healing. Up keep would be nothing more than eating a reasonable balanced diet and regular exercise.

It has been a very successful half century for Jack Nicholson in showbiz, complete with countless classics that have reached the eyes of millions of adoring fans throughout the years. The cosmetic transformations that we suggest would be phenomenal to see and surely extend his incredible career for years on after and allow him to play a wider range of roles. We look forward to the possibility of seeing Jack sporting those great jeans again.

Just prior to getting arresting for driving under the influence this week, Lindsay Lohan spent the past weekend in Malibu partying with her friends and trying to play low-key at a beach barbeque. That was until she stripped down to a red-hot bikini that revealed her large overflowing breast implants.

Although the 21-year old actress has repeatedly denied having breast implants and attributed her sudden chest growth to genes, the just-released bikini pictures of Lindsay yet again confirm that only plastic surgery could explain the miraculous expansion of her breasts by one or two cup sizes. Moreover, Lindsay’s razor-thin body is in striking opposition to her voluptuous breasts, suggesting this lack of proportion between her chest and body was achieved by cosmetic surgery.

Lindsay is rumored to have gotten her first breast augmentation when she turned 17. Some sources say that Lohan subsequently had a second breast augmentation to improve her breasts and achieve a more “natural” look. Responding to these rumors, Lindsay said that she was a late bloomer who happened to develop her chest at 17.

“I developed very late in high school. When I was 16, I still had baby fat. I didn’t get my chest until I was 17, so that made me feel insecure. I used to feel like I had to stuff my bra,” said Lindsay Lohan in an interview with Cosmo Girl.

While it is normal for adolescents to develop their breasts in their late teens, Lindsay’s ballooning from complete flat territory to her current breast size of generous 34C seems unlikely without going under the knife. Real or fake, Lindsay’s boob job looks convincingly natural and had she not been a celebrity whose every move is caught on camera, only the trained eye would guess that her breasts are implants.

Lindsay’s breast augmentation is not the only plastic surgery rumor under her belt, as the actress is also rumored to have gotten a nose job and lip augmentation via dermal fillers such as collagen and Restylane. Lindsay’s lips have had their ups and downs, as in many photos they appear substantially fuller and more pouty than in other photos where they resume their flatter shape, suggesting that the star gets lip injections. As lip injections have a limited life, the only way to retain the voluptuous look is by having more injections.

Although Lindsay was not self-conscious about being photographed incessantly by paparazzi in her bikini, she was careful enough to keep a bit of her Maxi dress on top of her ankle so that no one should see her alcohol detection ankle bracelet that she has to wear after crashing her car in May due to alcohol intoxication.

April: I truly respect my mate’s opinion so when he said why not you have wanted this for a long time I knew it was right and he said the procedures are so safe now. I was hesitant to tell my friends, as I didn’t want negative feedback. Also in case things didn’t turn out. I wasn’t working so that was not an issue, thank goodness.

Make Me Heal: How did you research the procedure and come to decide on this particular procedure?

April: I googled everything I could think of to read…lots of testimonials on many sites, every kind of liposuction procedure and what was the newest and safest. But my real break through came when I came upon MMH website. I talked and talked with the forum and read about everyone’s results and before and after photos. Then I knew for sure I wanted it done now and I would have the support I needed.

My biggest friend was Arnica Gel, which I am sure, helped all my tremendous bruising to be gone in 2 weeks and also the arnica montana tablets. Then I moved onto EMU oil which I still use 5 months post op. There are tremendous healing qualities with this oil.

Make Me Heal: How did you come to choose your doctor?

April: I had 2 PS in our area that I knew were highly recommended and on the Board of College of Physicians and Surgeons in Canada. This way they are certified Plastic Surgeons. I had only 1 consultation with each. But Dr Groot was the one I chose not for lower cost, but he did turn out to be lower, but because I had known him for about 15 years as I went to see him for consultations of my moles and dermatology issues. Now he only specializes in surgery.

Make Me Heal: Please discuss if you have any role in deciding the type of technique used for your surgery by the doctor?

April: Not really but the pre-ops and post-op instructions were so clear and many pages of what to expect that I realized after talking with Dr Groot I was in good hands. This was the first procedure I ever have done like this so I felt he was highly efficient and would know the best and it sure turned out that way. I had done lots of research to know exactly what he was explaining.

Make Me Heal: How did you prepare for the surgery?

April: This was an area that MMH site was truly a blessing. I had everything ready the day before surgery. Also I read on the site about not using any Advil or Aspirin or V-E that causes bleeding 2 weeks before surgery. My PS said that also. We bought a recliner chair for the first few weeks which isn’t necessary but I lived in that chair for 2 weeks. Good for elevation and easy to get in and out of. Then tons of lemons for water for elimination and fluid retention. Low sodium meals frozen so you can pop it in the micro or oven and is easy. The clinic provided a take me home bag with all my pads and tape and gauze pads for the incisions. I drained heavy for 3-4days. Also the before photos and after photos. This has been a lifesaver. To see the changes and document the inches and to know the procedure is dramatic. My husband was ready and he assisted me greatly. You can be quite concerned about the bruising and leaking with blood (not much blood just liquid) that is good to have a support system in place and for them to see photos on line that might happen to you also. I learned from the site all the post op symptoms that might occur and the healing process from tightness to lumps to swelling which kept me a lot calmer and when I was upset I wrote the forum and received genuine caring from all the members and MMH coordinators. After the surgery I purchased 3 garments from MMH on line. Moving into smaller sizes as healing progressed. It was amazing how fast delivery was as we live in Northern Canada and the friendly assistance. The quality was excellent.

Make Me Heal: How were you feeling the night before the surgery and on the moments before the surgery itself?

April: The night before surgery I was scared. Was I doing the right thing, was I too vain, was I going to die, would I turn out like a freak, would he do a good job and how painful would it be. I thought of all the years of wanting this and I was very happy I finally made the decision but true jitterbugs. But the next morning I was calm. There was no going back and the time was now. It was like a true peace came over and the office called and asked me to come in 2 hours earlier. Even better let’s go and I was excited. I took my garbage bags to cover the seats for leakage and a blanket in case I got cold. Also we live 1hour from home so we would have to stop at 20minutes and have me walk after surgery so not to develop blood clots.

Make Me Heal: How was the recovery process?

April: It was harder for me. I read online some had a walk in the park. Out and about after 1 week and into exercise after 2 weeks. I was in my recliner for 11 days then I started to feel better. I couldn’t have massage, as I was too tender until about 3 ½ months. I did massage myself very carefully and stretched a lot with the tightness. Within 3 weeks my side tightness had left. I started riding my exercise bike after 3 weeks at home slowly.

Make Me Heal: Please discuss what side effects you experienced?

April: When I came home the PS asked me to have a shower at 4 hours and change the pads. Well I was frozen so there was no pain but I passed out in the shower and hubby was ready to pick me up and I got sick. I was told this might happen. So we were ready. Just the removal of the compression garment, rush of blood and then draining and weakness from surgery. I was leaking a lot for 4 days and I could not change my bandages as I was so bruised it freaked me. I couldn’t look. So Hubby did it all.

Make Me Heal: What were the worse parts of the recovery?

April: Of course my bruising but then the day after surgery my abs felt like they were falling out and all squishy. Like a bowl of jello and not attached. When I stood up it felt like everything was ripping not pain just ripping and tight. Then I got the abs of steel like a girdle around my waist. My first stage garment cut into my sides so much with the clasps and zippers but I made myself wear it for the full 2 weeks and I am happy I did. I only needed pain pills for the first 3-4days. Then of course lumps and tightness on my sides.

April: My dear hubby alone and of course MMH site I talked with every day.

Make Me Heal: Please discuss the pain or discomfort you experienced during the recovery?

April: I had a lot of numbness on my lower abs and hips. So most of my discomfort was tightness and lumps. I also gained 16lbs fluid after surgery so swelled huge then after day 6 lost the fluid. It was the ripping and tearing feeling that scared me. Also getting in and out of the car was very hard.

April: I was very prepared and knew recovery would be a slower process.

April: I don’t know if people want to hear this but patience. Patience. Patience. It is not an overnight fix and don’t expect miraculous results immediately. Between swelling, lumps and roping it can get to be quite distressing. But then some people bounce right back depending on much fat you have removed. With minimal fat your recovery is a lot faster. But it is all worth it.
