Reese Witherspoon & Sandra Bullock Accept Their Cellulite

Acceptance of our god-given imperfections is becoming a sign of the times, and it’s about time. Cellulite and stretch marks, enemies of all womankind, don’t bother Reese Witherspoon and Sandra Bullock. Reese Witherspoon accepts having cellulite and stretch marks as a small price of having two wonderful children. “I am covered in stretch marks and celllulite but it doesn’t bother me at all. My body will never be the same again but I really don’t care,” says Witherspoon in a new interview in New! Magazine.

Down to earth actress Sandra Bullock admits to having making a hobby to going to fashion shows to spot cellulite on the models and make herself feel better about her own body. Bullock tells InStyle, “We all have cellulite. So do supermodels! I’ve been to the shows, and I go, ‘Stick figure has some cellulite!’ It’s nature. Without it, you’re not human.”

As an aside, the National Inquirer recently published a mean-spirited piece with candid shots of stars and their cellulite. The following scanned shots of the feature, show many celebrities with cellulite including Cindy Crawford, Tara Reid, Nicolette Sheridan, Christina Aguilera, Helen Hunt, Maria Sharapova, Uma Thurman, Pamela Anderson, Paris Hilton, Mischa Barton, and Britney Spears.

We feel bad for the stars who had to be exposed, but hope that there is some good in giving women the feeling of normalcy about having cellulite. All of us get it and stars, athletes, and models are not spared. Regardless, they all still look just fine and their loved ones surely appreciate and love these imperfections. Someone once told us that “no one is perfect, only G-d is perfect.” This was a response to our idea of naming the company “Make Me Perfect?” instead of Make Me Heal. We’re glad we killed that idea.

As you can tell from the previous paragraph, we’re often divided about the task of writing this gossip section. It’s an ethically challenging task, as part of us does not like the intrusive aspect of exposing stars, the seemingly ironic vibe of the stories, and the obsessing over their plastic surgery details. Yes, there are more important issues in the world to talk about, but gossip is a guilty pleasure and we can’t be serious all the time. And you people are entertained by it and want to know about it…so we dutifully report it. It’s all in good fun, but one moral to the story and this whole gossip section is that we’re not here to promote or dissuade anyone from plastic surgery, or to mock anyone, but that we want to put the beauty standards established by the media and the stars that we hold ourselves so dearly to in perspective and show that a good number of stars are not just god-given perfect beauties …some have clever enhancement work behind their look. Whether you choose plastic surgery or not, it’s up to you. But we mean no harm and apologize for any collateral damage caused here. Make Me Heal is a schizophrenic place, with multiple personalities catering to the different people and personalities that peruse through this place.
