Album Description

On the road to a new me! On Dec. 22, 2009 I had an anchor abdominoplasty and breast lift and small implants. On Dec. 15, 2010 I had the works on my face. I'm on a journey to recapture my early 50's. Three years ago I joined Weight Watchers & then followed up a year later with going to the gym. I have lost 132 pounds. Now, I'm trying to reverse some of the damage I've inflicted on my body. But as we all know...there is only so much a good surgeon can do!!

Brensmom....Yes, I was in pain the first couple of weeks. But it was mostly because of the surgical dermabrasion that I had. I had no clue how much it would hurt. Mainly when I had to shower/wash my hair 4 times a starting the day after surgery. Girl….I thought I would pass out when just the shower mist touched my face. That was intense!! On the fourth day I actually looked forward to my showers. The water felt good! But I had to deflect the water with my hand (and still do). I let it gently hit my face. If it wasn’t for the dermabrasion….I could have gotten by most days with extra strength Tylenol. After the setback I had back in January I cried for 3 days straight. I finally sucked it up and decided it is what it is. If I did do some damage to my face crying wasn’t going to fix it. Time will tell. I’m praying it will all be GOOD! I bet you are so excited. Five more days. You know, I was not nervous not one tiny bit. I have so much faith in my PS that I was not scared or worried. I don’t regret doing this one bit. I know it will be months before I start really looking like the old me……without the wrinkles. I can’t wait. Keep me posted once you have your surgery. If you have any questions please ask. Good luck….and here’s to a newer you!

Tracynew...I'm doing much better now. I had another setback....this time it was a really bad rash all over my face. PS treated me for everything....just in case. I think I had a reaction to the new cream I was using. After starting the 5 (yes five) prescriptions my face cleared up within 2-3 days. I took off 3 /12 weeks from work myself when I had my surgery. I knew folks couldn't help but notice my odd appearance when I returned. I work at a hospital and had been very open with everyone about my surgery. I have kept myself isolated in my department as much as possible. I will try to post some updated pictures this weekend. I am supposed to go to my PS on Monday...but because of this wild weather here in Texas (woke up with several inches of snow on the ground today) I don't know if I will make it to Little Rock. I am ready to start wearing makeup and going back to the gym. I need his blessing first!! He said no on my last visit. You'll get back to looking normal pretty soon. I see more and more of myself in the mirror now. You will too. It is really hard to be patient!!

Hello TexCin- I found your pictures last night and I plan on watching your progress. My surgery is scheduled for Feb.9. I'm having a lower facelift, necklift and browlift.I am watching your progress, although it does look like you were in a lot of pain. Good luck.

Hi TexCin - How are you doing? I can't believe throwing up has cause you such a set back this far out. I was viewing your pictures and your recovery was looking very similar to mine (much slower than I thought). I had to go back to work at 10 days and stil had a lot of swelling and brusing. Now at just over 4 weeks it is slowly looking better but still lumpy and swollen. I feel like I will never look normal again. I can imagine how upset you are. Hopefully you will get back on the road to recovery quickly.

Thanks. I've had a serious setback. I threw up Sunday night and caused some damage. I have countless broken capillaries and probably broke stitches & may have dislodged the anchor on my right cheek. I also have whelps all over my peel areas. I can't trace the anchor on my cheek anymore. Went to see my PS...a wait and see what happens. Needless to say I have cried so many times these past few days. Pain has been pretty intense as well. Felt like my face was being ripped off when I threw up. I looked in the mirror and my heart dropped.
Couldn't believe what I saw. I'll post some updated pics later. I feel like a freak show right now....even though some healing has taken place.
