you ladies know your stuff! i should have come here when I was disappointed with my mini S-Lift.
It was good I was told (on the phone by the secretary)it was pregnancy weight that undid the job and my surgeon wouldn't even see me without a new consult fee after all the money I handed him already.
I am glad you persisted!

Oh, Teresa! What a total nightmare for you! How are things these days?

BTW, I looked up your surgeons website. Apparently, he has NO board certifications whatsoever. NONE. According to his website, he had only one year of cosmetic surgery training. Oy. No wonder you've had such a horrible experience with him! I'm also really skeptical of any doc who does everything, as he claims to. It sounds like he's running quite the chop shop. Gosh, I am really SO sorry to read your story, and I sincerely hope you ended up going to someone else to do the revisions, and not going back to this hack.

Hey Girls,
I just checked back and see new comments from Newmexicolady....Hi Lilyjane. My post op visit last month was a nightmare. My doctor is completely playing blind to anything wrong. Yet he is willing to lift the sagging right side of my face by making an incision around my sideburn and pulling the skin up there. That doesn't sound good to me at all. He said that if he redoes the whole side.....it will only give me another sweep mark. As for the left side being pulled up to high......he said that if he tries to reposition the skin lower.....it will cause my eye to pull down. So it sounds like he can see the problem there.....but can't do anything about it....but he looks at my face and tells me that he can't fix something he can't see.......
Than he wants to do lipo on the sweep mark to flatten it out.....and do lipo on the entire lower part of my face on the sagging right side. He thinks it will make that side slimmer. All I can think is that the skin will sag even more once he does that. He is not willing to do anything else.
I was talking with a girl I work with today. She mentioned that it looked like I had a lazy eye. The same eye and brow that was lifted like a cat after the surgery. At this point it is no longer lifted. The brow is lowering everyday and the lid is drooping. The eye looks like it is pulling down too. By the way.....I didn't get my eyes done......just a browlift.........Anyway.. she asked me if my doctor was going to do anything for me. I told her what he said and she said that she would be crying her eyes out if she was me. I know my pictures aren't the best in the world.....but some things just don't show up........To really look at me.....there is a complete distortion from one side to the other. The left side of my face is full in the front.....The right side is flat and wider.......Even my neck was pulled up unevenly. I am noticeing that now. He lifted the left side of my face too much and not much was lifted on that side of the neck. On the right side.....he didn't lift my face.....so I guess he had to lift that side of my neck more. I will put a picture in now. I have lines drawn to highlight the pull.

I'm still holding in there.

Theresa-- It is amazing that with what we are paying, the doctors do not want to make their patients happy. Weigh your 2nd surgery options carefully. You could end up with more complications and still be unhappy with the results. Ask about risks and talk to their patients who have had reworks. I am unpleased w/ my rt ear (pixie) and have my 14 wk post op appointment soon. I will ask the ps what are my options. I am hoping for minimal cutting and no cost. Pls keep us all posted on what you decide.

Theresa, Consider the redo carefully. As our skin ages, the recovery is longer. You could have other complications and still not be happy with the result. I have a pixie ear on rt side and my 14 week post op appt w/the ps. I will be asking him about options. If a LOT more cutting is required and there is cost involved, I may just learn to live with it.

Hi again,

You are right to feel unhappy if the operation hasn't lived up to your expectations - I too, would feel the same.

It is also very wise to see other doctors especially if they have a good reputation.

How did it go with your doctor on Thursday? Also, do you trust him to do your face again if you are already unhappy?

Kind regards
I would feel exactly as you do if my op didn't

Hi LJ,
I have seen two other doctors. One would not comment at all and the other explained in detail what needed to be done. Basically it all needs to be redone.
Honestly most of the oddities don't bother me. The hairline alittle...because it's closer to the eye and falls differently.....but oh well. I basically don't like the fact that the one side of my face was lifted way too high and the other side was barely lifted. It's hard to photograph....but the cheek is up higher near my sideburn. The other cheek is going more across my face. I can't wear blush at all anymore....because it only makes it look more obvious. I definitely don't like the sweep mark. That won't go away unless the whole side is redone. That side is tigher and I can't imagine making it any tighter without doing something to the other side of my face that was barely lifted.
You are correct though.......no one notices anything until I point things out to them. My doctor did say he would fix my pixie ears....but the other doctor said he needs to tighten my whole lower face and neck while he is at it. The one crooked neckband needs to also be reattached in the middle.
So I am seeing my doctor this Thursday. I don't know what will happen. I don't expect prefection.....but I do hope he is willing to do something to even me out alittle.

Hi, I've had a good look at the pictures and you look fine and nice but your result seems to be minimal. When we pay so much for the surgery - it is so disappointing when it doesn't turn out how it should. Nobody would notice your slightly different hair line or the right side of your face. Try and remember that generally other people don't look at us that closely. Will you go to another surgeon for an opinion?

Point well taken.

Personally, I don't know what you were expecting from that particular doctor. I mean, just looking at his website, the writing is on the wall:

1: Photo documentation is really poor; different angles and distances compared to each other which is bad comparison.

2: Fact that when you look up under 'face lift', one finds; "Quick Lift" which is just some re-incarnation of the Lifestyle lift.

3: Fact that the guy is doing scrotal lifts and labia plasties.

The photo documentation for the face lifting is very sloppy. He's got only 3 photos of face lifting procedures all of them resolving to a quick lift and if you look up brow lift or bleph, you get the same 3 photos with poor photo documentation.

Also, when they are 'all over the place' in terms of the variety of things they do, that isn't a sign that their 'specialty' is face lifting.

All of the 3 photos say the person got a "Quick lift" AND face lift. Which was it??? The presentation is sloppy and I'm not surprised his work would also be sloppy.

You need to develop your skills as how to spot a good PS or get help from someone who knows who the good ones are when seeking out correction.

I see the asymmetry. Your concerns with your results are not unfounded.

Get another opinion, before seeing your doctor again if at all possible--even if you must postpone your next appoint with your doctor. You need another opinion as to why you have the "sweep" (is it really track marks from lipo or something else) and you do have slight jowling remaining and your neck was not properly tightened, IMHO. This is not acceptable. I'm sorry you've had to go through this but what you are saying is not without basis from what your pics show.

Hey Nancylees, The first pisture is the before picture and the second picture is 11 weeks after surgery. I after picture is darker, but I was trying to create the same lighting effect to my face.......There is some improvement.....but very little.....

Teresa, please take an after picture and put it beside your before picture. I think you'll see a huge difference. NOBODY but you will notice the slight asymmetry of the sides of your face or your hairline. I promise. Plus, you need to give the healing process more time. You look lovely. Nancylees

I guess I am wondering if this is normal or unsatisfactory??? I would love any comments. All I wanted was my neck and jowls gone. I was told I had too much skin and needed a cheek and browlift too......which I had to pay more for...I don't know about the browlift?? Not much change that I can see. The cheeks?? He didn't go through my eye or mouth....and the center of my face is still sagging.......But I still have the jowls...but their now next to my mouth and new jowls are forming. Lucky me??? My neck is loosening up fast and the bands are showing even if my head is straight.
