Fraxel Face and Neck

Album Description

I am 58 years old and have taken good care of my skin for most of my life. I decided to use a very skilled and highly recommended New York City based plastic surgeon for this laser resurfacing. I had it done on February 15, 2011. This is my third day of recovery.
Day One-The surgery went very well. I was given general anesthesia and woke without incident. I did not feel any pain what so ever. Immediately after the surgery my face was covered with wet cold gauze. I was released to go home and advised to rest for a least a week. The first night was the most painful and uncomfortable. here was not much going on with my skin except that it was starting to turn brown in some areas. I also had my neck region lasered. The neck area was resurfaced and feathered out at the clavicle are near my chest. I was told to wash my face a few times a day and apply cold compresses. I am also covering it with a good layer of Aquaphor ointment. I was told to sleep on my back with my head raised above my chest for the first night.
Day 2- Well my face is bleeding around my mouth area where the deep Laser obviously was used. It stopped bleeding later on in the day. My skin felt very sensitive to the touch. It was a bit painful to wash my face. some time during the afternoon my face started to swell and it turned bright red.
I kept using Ice Packs to keep the swelling down. There was little pain except when you touch it. My neck looks like it is very sunburned.
Day 3- I woke up this morning and my face is staring to look better however it is still very swollen. I still know that it has to peal with in the next few days. there is hardly any pain at all. Please know that about 5 years ago my with had CO2 resurfacing with the older more invasive laser. Her skin is still flawless and beautiful. I have been taking
