I love the pictures that showed the fat and it being removed. Awesome! thank you. I have my tummy tuck in January of 2008, earlier i made a mistake on some of my posting and but the year of 2007. But no one has called me out on it. Such sweet women on here. Over the last 6 years I have lost approx 170 pounds. And I hate what is left over, it is so depressing. Especially when I look at others that lost weight, not as much as i, but they do not have problem area like I. Thank you for the pictures.

Well, 9 weeks today. The swelling contiues to move spot to spot and I have the most swelling right in the front now. I visitied my Doctor this past Monday and he was puzzled as to the swelling, however said that the drainage could be the reason. He didn't want to drain any and wanted my body to get rid of it naturally. BUT...he wants to see me again in 3 weeks. I feel a little better day by day. I guess a year will pass before I know it and these issues will be far in the past and forgotten.

It was one of the best things I have done besides my breast reduction in 1996. Honestly, I shouldn't have pushed myself to go to work, however, I have a desk job, well, it's suppose to be. I run around in high gear all the time. With the bleeding set back, I should have taken another week to stay at home...at the very least. My company is being bought out and I needed to prepare for that. I have tried to add another picture, but have had trouble doing so. I will attempt it again soon. I look so much better, but am still swollen. I haven't rested like I should have, and I do advise that! My scar looks great. I have had no problem with that at all. I recommend some Vit E for the itching. I did have that during the healing process. I have read from another member that she was advising to take meds for the drainage tube removal, however, I didn't even feel them come out. It was quick and easy for me. Everyone is different and I do have a high pain tolerance. I only took pain medication for 3 days and enjoyed the rest to sleep at night...ha. I did get my days and nights mixed up while off. My last doctor visit involved 5 more tubes of old black blood being removed from that left side where the hematoma was/is. I know I have more fluid built up and I guess I could let him draw that out again. It is quite a relief when it is taken out.
I look forward to knowing how your surgery goes. I hope you will let me know. If I can answer any questions you may have, I will be more than happy to help.

CORRECTION I lost 2 units, not 2 liters.

Day 17 Post-Op 7-16-07 Went today for my PS visit. Everything is still looking good. Dr. Murphy did drain quite a bit of "black/old" blood that was collecting inside me. That did not hurt and actually felt good once it was taken out. I return next Monday and maybe he will do it again if needed. I can tell that my left side is "fuller" and that seems to be where the drainage is collecting. He asked me if my strenght was returning (and it is) however I told him that I felt tired alot and assumed it was from the 2 liters of blood I lost 7-5-07. He said it was but that would change too. Meanwhile, I am returning to work tomorrow. Looking forward to it and dreading it all at the same time. Glad I only live a few miles from work....just incase I want to go home and rest. I am feeling pretty good in the mornings but still notice swelling and stiffness in the evenings. I know it will all be better in time.

Day 12 Post-Op 7-11-07 Went back to Dr. Murphy today in Memphis. Both drainage tubes were removed, which didn't hurt at all, and the stitches around my oblong belly button. (was round) I feel so much better today and with those drainage tubes removed...free-er! and cool-er! I was told that I would drain alot today, but once I got home and removed the guaze...there was very little bleeding or drainage. "Great Success!" I'm on my way to a new me!

Day 9 Pos-Op 7-8-07 Well, I had a minor set back this week. On 7/5/07, I woke up, went to the restroom, and a "passing out" feeling over came me. Went back to bed to have 2 more episodes...then bleeding was discovered from my right side at the drainage tube. Both drainage tubes were filled and blood was all over myself, sheets and matress. An ambulance was called and I was taken to my local hospital where the bleeding was slowed down. After a called to my Plastic Surgeon, I was taken back to Memphis via ambulance. So, after a CATscan, a hematoma was discovered on my left side the size of a lemon. My PS was concerned that he may have to undo everything and "clean me up", but after a long day in the ER and finally moved to a room at 4 in the morning, things turned to the better. I spent 3 1/2 days in the hospital and I am now home. Dr. Murphy doesn't know what happened but says I am doing fine now. I will return to him on 7/11/07 to have the drainage tubes removed. Again a minor set back, but all is well and I haven't taken a pain pill since 7/3/07.

Day 4 Post-Op 7-3-07 Today has been a much better day. I took a shower and shaved my legs...well, my daughter did. I have not taken any pain medication today, but have taken Tylenol because my lower back feels strained. That could be from the excess weight being taken off or/and walking stooped over. I still have quite a bit of swelling and sorness at the drainage tube sites.

I went to Dr. Murphy today and was told I was doing good. The drainage tubes will stay in 1 more week. He also informed me today that it wasn't 9 pounds, but 9 1/2 pounds he removed. Whew! The liposuction was at 220 cc removed. I am feeling better today (3 days post-op), but notice more swelling in the evenings.
