My opinion is that if it was bothering you. You should fix it. Don't listen to others opinion. You are the one that has to live with it.

i think you looked alot better before surgery. :( it makes me really sad when i see women do this to themselves. it reminds me of FGM that goes on in africa.

I agree. Most of the pre surgery pics on here, the vagina looks much more appealing to me pre proceure. I am not sure why someone would go through this for what appears to b enormal anatomy. Just my thoughts. As long as you are happy though

I am a woman who does not intend to have this surgery but was curious to know what kind of results other women have, especially to know if and how much sensation is lost... And I must say, I am very disturbed by some of the comments from other women, particularly the lady who said she has heard many negative comments about her labia. I am definately of the camp that believes men in general are not so critical of the female genitalia as women are on themselves. If any gal here reading can truly say that they have received "many many negative and hurtful comments" then I would have to wonder just what type of man or men you are getting involved with. Are there really that many vaginas that are so freakishly removed from perfect, and just what is a perfect vagina?! Are they any freakier than a ball sack and penis?? Genitals are just kinda funny looking, but ALL are NORMAL and if you have that big a problem with your vag then maybe you should look into some sexual health books rather than a doctor.
I personally don't think my own would win any kind of beauty contest, but the idea of someone taking a knife to it is absolutely terrifying, which I think ought to be a normal reaction.
Now, that said, if it were a health concern, i.e. something that was causing discomfort, that would be a different story, which seems to be the case with this lady here. Which means the posters commenting on how her new vag looks is totally irrelevant. All that should matter is that is not experiencing anymore discomfort. Kudos to that, to be sure!
One last thing, though. If the reason for having this surgery is to make physical activity easier, I'm wondering just what the men have to say about their equippage getting in the way during physical activity?? After all, they have a lot more stuff going on down there.

Has this affected your sensation at all? Good or bad?
britnee814From: britnee814 | 2009-02-24 21:32:02

why did you have this done? was it painful having sex? or was it for aesthetic purposes only?
bigbitsFrom: bigbits | 2009-02-14 02:10:33

You look great... thanks.
I hope this has improved your life.
I am looking forward to finally getting mine done soon.
And further to the comment above, I agree Men definitely care what it looks like.
I have had many many negative & hurtful comments about mine, which would not have been said if they really didn't care.
But the important thing is that I don't like it.
And how it makes me feel and for all those people against it, if it makes your quality of life better then its definitely worth it.

I think you have a great deal of courage and look great. I have to say that in my experience men do care how you look. After reading some of the comments people make about this type of procedure I had to comment. I also showed my boyfriend, he says you look great and that men do care what a women looks like. If they say differently they are lying! So you go girl congrats!

im exactly one week post-op and i was wondering how long it took for pain and discomfor to go mostly away?
jjbsr98From: jjbsr98 | 2008-03-05 06:01:05

Congrats on doing what you feel was needed. I hope women only do this to make life easier for them. Men in general dont really pay much attention to the look of the area. If you feel it was needed then have at it. Women please dont do this to impress men. What you have already impresses us enough.

I think if you took the picture a little further away so ppl can see the big picture. It looks good! I think you just took the picture so close so all you can see are the labia manora. for just being labia manora theres almost none left...and thats great!!!!!!!;)

mimidesFrom: mimides | 2008-01-04 14:51:19

It was a very feminine vulva! The last image does not look much like genitalia. However, if it was causing discomfort, physical comfort is more important than aesthetic, seeing as it is the kind of body part that is not being seen much anyhow.
swtjen01From: swtjen01 | 2008-01-02 20:36:37

Girl your VAJ looks great in the last picture! I just had mine done on Friday and seeing yours gave me hope that it does look better with time. Before my surgery all I saw was before/after no in between. I had no idea what to expect and honestly I was in tears! I hope mine turns out to be like yours
jennygirl666From: jennygirl666 | 2007-11-04 19:14:06

You kinda looked like I did before. It is starting to look better though. Have you been able to have sex? Did it feel OK? I have been very happy about how sex has been so great after.

I have been thinking about you.

fitbyfiftyFrom: fitbyfifty | 2007-11-04 13:12:15

I guess I thought it would be easier all around to "recover". It was very painful 2 -4 days post op. My nerves in the vaginal and inner deep thigh area had spasms that felt knife-like at first. I did NOT expect that so I was really scared. Within 2 weeks, the sensations of healing were < half that. I just have tingly feelings along the suture lines. My Doc was great to work with I just wish she and I had drawn pics and takied about what to expect sensation wise and aesthetically. I feel that it looks a bit unnatural and was over-corrected in places. I am now 4 weeks + 4 days post op and am 90% satisfied. Wow, how things can improve! The brain remembers the presence of pain but, like after childbirth, we don't reexperience theactual pain just thinking about how hard it all was. Knowing what I know now, I would still do it again, just have more communication pre-op!

"2ndchildhood" how can you ask why she is not satisfied. it is obvious!

anyway, do not feel bad. i went through a similar procedure with the same outcome. i was in tears. i went to another doctor at the same hospital and got a revision a week later(i was flying home the next day).

why don't you get a revision?i did and i am happy. not perfect but far better than what that monster did to me.

Why are you not satisfied? What expectations did you have going into the surgery.

thanks,
2ndchildhood
