I can't speak highly highly enough of Dr. Halpern, his staff, and his skill. Everyone makes you feel so comfortable even when you are in "uncomfortable" situations during the consult, pre-op, and day of surgery. They know how to make you feel at ease. Do not worry about infection with Dr. Halpern's surgical suite. It will not happen here. They are extremely infection conscious and go to extremes to prevent any. If you get one, you already had it before you came there!
He also has specific pre- and post-op instructions that he asks his patients to follow becuz they are proven to give better results for healing, etc. I can honestly say, as someone who suffers from autoimmune issues and chronic pain and has gone through numerous surgical procedures, that this is the first time I have ever woken up after anesthesia feeling GREAT! No nausea or pain! That was a first for me and I was shocked, but Dr. Halpern told me I would wake up that way. I told him he didn't know my history, and he told me that I never had surgery by him! He was so right. I'm also unable to take oral pain meds, and since liposuction is generally a painful procedure, I was pretty worried about the post-op pain being more than I would be able to handle with Tylenol. The day after surgery was a bit uncomfortable because I had to lay on my back which aggravated my fibromyalgia pain. Fortunately, Dr. Halpern recommended I take an antihistamine so that I would sleep through the pain. Once again, he was right.
All in all, chronic pain patients who can't exercise their flab away shouldn't fear liposuction as long as Dr. Halpern is their surgeon. You will wonder why you didn't do it sooner. There is no one in his office who isn't first class, including Pat, his aesthetician and laser specialist. His entire team is top-notch, just like himself. I also didn't find his prices any higher than any other of the top surgeons. You get what you pay for.
