How Can Support & Compression Garments Benefit My Healing Journey?
In the Support & Compression Garments department of the Store, you can try out a wide array of well-fitting, high-quality, and comfortable garments for your thigh lift (thighplasty). The Store has garments for both women and men that are made by innovative companies that specialize in compression wear for plastic surgery. Thigh lift garments are typically lower body garments or above knee garments. As you stroll through this area of the Store, you will notice that the garments are organized into primary categories, including Women's Thigh Garments, and Men's Thigh Garments. Finally, the Store also features a wide array of Women's Garment Recovery Kits and Men's Garment Recovery Kits that provide a powerful way to maximize your healing benefits by having continuous compression during both Stage One (initial 1-2 weeks of post-op) and Stage Two (2-8 weeks post-op) of recovery. Each Kit contains a Stage One compression garment and a matching Stage Two compression garment that together are designed to help you obtain the best results during the recovery phase and to have the greatest degree of comfort.
Following a thigh lift (abdominoplasty), your doctor will ask you to wear a compression garment. Wearing a compression garment after thigh lift is essential to improve blood circulation, minimize swelling after the procedure, flush the body out of potentially harmful fluids, accelerate the healing process, and allow the patient to return to daily routines sooner. A compression garment also provides support to surgical areas for more comfort and helps the skin fit better to its new contours. Depending on your doctor, you may need to wear compression garments during both the First Stage (initial 1-2 weeks of post-op) and Second Stage (2-8 weeks post-op) of recovery. For this reason, you may need to get both a First Stage garment and a Second Stage garment. Our store features a wide variety of First and Second Stage garments. Each of the Women's Garment Recovery Kits and Men's Garment Recovery Kits offered at the Store include both a Stage One and matching Stage Two garment. Compression garments are worn like long underwear underneath your clothing. Read more about First & Second Stage Garments.

First Stage Garments
A first stage compression garment is typically worn immediately after the surgery and continuously for several days (or longer depending on the doctor’s instructions) and then non-continuously for the initial 1-2 weeks of post-op. During the initial period of post-op, your doctor may instruct you to wear this garment constantly (even while sleeping) and only remove it when you need to go to the bathroom or to shower. Generally, the amount of time you will need to wear your garment will be reduced as you move forward in your healing journey. Due to heavy drainage and long, continuous periods of time that you may need to wear the garment, it is recommended to purchase 2 Stage One garments.
Second Stage Garments
A second stage garment is typically worn during 2-8 weeks post-op (or longer, depending on the doctor’s instructions). A second stage garment is worn once your first stage garment (first 1-2 weeks of post-op) is no longer appropriate. Generally, the amount of time you will need to wear your garment will be reduced as your move forward in your healing journey. Second stage garments are sized smaller, are more fashionable, and have a less bulky appearance than first stage garments.
